Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live Casino is a live dealer entertainment game show by Playtech Live.
Based on the popular themed slot, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, this game uses a modified live Spin A Win wheel to drive the game. The objective for live casino players is to bet on segments of the wheel, which are either a Number or one of 4 Bonus Rounds. When the wheel stops on a segment you’ve bet on, you’ll either win a cash prize or an entry into one of the four bonus rounds, where you can win multipliers against your initial bet.
Wins are capped at €500,000, as the multipliers can create winnings above that sum.

There are two Mystery Segments on the wheel on which you can’t bet. If the wheel lands on these, either a multiplier gets added to each number, and a respin occurs, or a multiplier gets applied to your current bet.
Once betting has closed, the presenter spins the Adventures Beyond Wonderland wheel, waiting for it to stop on a segment.
The game round ends if the wheel stops on a number, or if it stops on one of the Bonus segments, a bonus round is initiated.
Five structured bonus rounds can be triggered when the wheel stops on one of the bonus segments.
In addition, a randomly triggered bonus multiplier can appear when Walter the Caterpillar blows a bubble gum balloon once betting time has closed.
One number on the betting grid is selected to receive this Multiplier, which pays out if the wheel stops on that number. This boost does not apply to any bonus segments, just the number of sections on the wheel. The Maximum boost value is 10x.
The WonderSpins bonus round uses a special wheel in this free spins round. The bonus round initiates when the wheel stops on 2 or 5 WonderSpins. The white rabbit appears, and the main wheel rotates on its axis to reveal two new wheels.
The outer wheel contains 54 segments, each matching an Alice in Wonderland character and each having an initial multiplier assigned to them:
The inner wheel contains multipliers or extra spins. This wheel spins while the main wheel rotates, and the white rabbit appears and chooses the segment that will receive the additional Multiplier.
If the wheel stops on the Eat Me or Drink Me segments, 1 Multiplier is added or removed from each character, and a respin is performed.
As the bonus rounds proceed through the spins, the multiplier bank builds up, with the total being the final Multiplier applied to your original bonus bet. Your original bet is retained.
In the Magic Dice Bonus Round, a grid of 6 columns and four rows is displayed. Each section can contain an Advance Arrow, a grid Multiplier, and individual multipliers. At the top of the grid is the max Multiplier of 100 x.
At the beginning of the game round, you choose either the red or white dice.
The dice roll in an automatic shaker. You go to the column number corresponding to the rolled dice number.
The dice roll again, and you go through the same process until you have received a prize or reached the top. The higher you climb, the bigger the reward you’ll receive.
The max payout for this game without any multipliers on the game itself is 200x.
There is one Walterspins Bonus Segment on the main wheel. If the wheel stops on this segment, the Walterspins bonus round is initiated.
The same Bonus wheel used for the 2 and 5 Wonderspins is used for the Walterspins.
The main difference between this bonus round and the Wonderspins is the addition of an extra multiplier which gets applied to all of the characters on the wheel.
Walter blows four bubbles, and you have to pick one with a multiplier of either 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x.
This Multiplier is applied to all the characters on the wheel.
The following sequence occurs for each of the two spins.
There are two Mystery Segments on the wheel, which can’t be bet on. This bonus round applies to everyone that has placed a valid bet.
One of two prizes gets chosen when the wheel stops on this segment.
The reason for playing the Adventures Beyond Wonderland live game show is the bonus rounds. If you play the numbers, you’re better off playing Spin A Win; you’ll get a better return.

My playing strategy is quite simple.
I cover Number 10 with one unit and the four bonus rounds with one unit each – so that’s a total bet of 5. My starting bankroll is 200 units.
I work on the basis that one of my bets will come in every 5 or 6 spins – sometimes it will be lower, sometimes higher, but the average over an extended period – maybe 100 spins will be six. I’ll need a win of 30x every six spins to break even. In reality, I get lower and higher. Again, I’m looking for an average.
This strategy will turn my money over and keep me in the game for a long time, in fact, hours. What this strategy does is get you the opportunity to be playing when the big Multiplier wins hits – that’s all. In the meantime, you may make small profits or losses, but they won’t be substantial.

The game mechanic of using a wheel of fortune to trigger wins and bonus rounds is a familiar sight at live casinos online these days. So it wasn’t tricky for me to understand what Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live was about when I first saw it.
This game from Playtech stands on its own, regardless of where the influences may have come from.
I like the theme of how the animated characters interact with the presenters. Some of these made me laugh out loud several times.
The innovative bonus wheels get revealed when the bonus rounds occur. I love the physical aspect of the game, and we’re not wholly reliant on an RNG engine making all the choices during the bonus rounds.
The same goes for the dice used in the Magic Dice round.
The graphics and sound all work well together; although the game’s general feel is dark, I like bright colours.
As for gameplay, it’s smooth and relatively easy to understand once you’ve played a few rounds. I didn’t understand the Magic Dice when I first saw it and had to read the help file to find out what was happening.
I think the betting grid is too wishy-washy. I want bolder colours and a heavier font to see them better.
The game statistic icons are just too small. Again I’d like them bigger to see them more easily.
The dice shaker for the Magic Dice game is just awful. The dice seem to skid around rather than being shaken. I don’t know why they didn’t use one of the Sic-bo shakers. This one looks cheap and not really up to the job.
Is the game playable? – definitely, yes.
Can I see the potential? – yes, but I think big wins will be scarce, i.e. 1000x and above.
Will the game suit players with small bankrolls? – definitely.
Since I first played the game in November 2020, several improvements have resulted in a more even spread of the RTP across all the numbers and bonus segments. There is more feeling that you’ll get something when you play, and while the big wins will still be challenging to come by, more regular small wins will occur more often, keeping you engaged more with the game.
The specific changes were to the Eat Me / Drink Me sections on the bonus wheel, the introduction of random Multiplier boosts to the main wheel, and how the Caterpillar multipliers are distributed to the number sections on the wheel during the Mystery bonus round.
In November 2021, Adventures Beyond Wonderland was live for a year. Playtech has released some statistics that may be of interest.
Walterspins, a new bonus round, is introduced. This uses the Wonderspins Bonus wheel. To accommodate this bonus round, one of the Number One Segments has been replaced by the new Walterspins segment. The impact is a change to the RTP for the Number One segment, which is now 96.64%.
Playtech announces Adventures Beyond Wonderland will go live in the USA in New Jersey sometime during the second half of 2023.
