Authentic XL Roulette is Authentic Gaming’s first step into a live roulette game with multipliers.
Rather than just producing a straight copy of Lightning Roulette, like some of the other providers, have done, Authentic have tried to be innovative.
They have produced a studio live roulette game with four different playing options, with three of them offering a varying number of multiplier possibilities.
In this review, we’ll look at each of the Multiplier options and how they compare to Lightning Roulette, Quantum Roulette, and Mega Roulette.
I’ll explain how to play XL Roulette and offer some hints and tips on the best playing strategies to adopt.
If reading is too much there is a video you can watch that explains everything you need to get playing.

Authentic XL roulette is a slightly different take on the live dealer roulette games that give multiplier boosts to straight-up number bets.
XL Roulette offers 4 different playing options, with each option increasing the risk/reward of playing straight-up number bets. So you can choose just how much risk you’re willing to take to get the multipliers.
The way Authentic does this is by reducing the payout on straight-up numbers while increasing the chances of getting a multiplier for each playing option.
The multiplier payouts don’t change, they range from 50x through to 500x.
The good thing is you can chop and change playing options at the click of a button between every spin!
XL Roulette can be played in four different modes.
The playing mode most similar to Lightning Roulette is XL Roulette. The other playing options create a risker version of the game – it’s the classic risk and reward scenario. The good thing is, control sits with the player in choosing the number of multipliers to be applied to the game. Something other games of this type doesn’t do.
Before you play Authentic XL Roulette Live, there are a few things that you should know before placing your bets.
XL Roulette is played like any normal game of roulette.
Select one of the 4 Playing options by opening the selection tab with the XL button.
Once you’ve selected the playing mode there are two additional options that will help you place your bets.
The playing mode will remain in place until you change it, which can be done between each game round.
The Bet All Function will place a straight-up bet on all numbers.
Alternatively, you can place normal roulette bets or use one of the functions for placing french bets, call bets, or neighbour bets.
If you want to turn those bets into straight-up equilivant bets, switch on the Straight-up function as mentioned above.
It’s also possible to save your bets as Favourites which you can call back at any time.
Note: Autoplay is not available on Mobile, but is on the Desktop version.
The Lucky number selection occurs when betting time has closed. The screen behind the dealer displays eleven number slots in three lines.
The Random Number generator selects how many lucky numbers will appear for each playing option and the numbers and multiplier values for each.
The bottom line is for the Xl Roulette option, the bottom and middle row numbers are for the XXL Roulette option, and all three lines are for the XXXL Roulette playing option.
The numbers are highlighted on the betting grid so you can keep track of them.
The results of the spin are displayed when the ball has dropped into one of the pockets on the wheel.
The winning number is displayed in the middle of the screen and if you’ve won, the payout for your bet is displayed below.
Note: that if you’re betting on one of the XL options and your straight-up number comes in, you’ll be paid at the rate for that XL option.
This payout table displays the payouts you can expect if you’re playing any of the options.
You should note that all payouts with the exception of straight-up number payouts are the same as standard European Roulette.
Bet Type | Payout |
---|---|
XL Straight-Up | 29:1 |
XXL Straight-Up | 23:1 |
XXXL Straight-Up | 17:1 |
S Straight-Up | 35:1 |
Split | 17:1 |
Street | 17:1 |
Corner | 8:1 |
Six Line | 5:1 |
Column | 2:1 |
Dozen | 2:1 |
Outside Bet | 1:1 |
Let’s begin with a reality check.
Regardless of what anyone tells you, there is no sure-fire way that you can guarantee a win when playing XL Roulette. However, there are strategies that will help you play better and also maximise your chances of keeping your bankroll for longer.
XL Roulette is not really designed to give you Multipliers and let you win. They are there to tempt you into trying to get them when the actual focus of when you bet is to try and find the right number or combinations of numbers to bet on.
This is where the multipliers work really well, as the game encourages you to pick as many numbers as possible in the ope you’ll get a lucky number. But that is just the first stage, you’ve won nothing until the ball lands in the pocket of that number. So you have to get two bets correct to win – clever eh?
What happens is you concentrate so much on getting multipliers that you lose sight of the real aim of the game, and that is just to win!
My advice, for what it’s worth, is don’t go after the multipliers, let them come to you.
Play roulette in the way you normally do (if you normally play straight-up numbers). If you don’t play Straight-up number roulette then either don’t play XL Roulette or play a normal European Roulette with La Partage to get the best returns.
If you want to try the multipliers, treat them as a side bet.
Do your normal bets and then place up to 5 straight-up number bets and pick the lowest playing option, XL ROulette.
This will give a straight-up return of 29:1, and still pay the full odds on all other bets.
XL Roulette is a new live dealer roulette game from Authentic Gaming. It has multipliers, but what is unique is the player can choose how many multipliers they’d like each game round, between 5 to 11. This puts the player in control of choosing the risk level for each spin. The multipliers range from 50x to 500x.
There are four playing options in XL Roulette. The standard option uses the normal European Roulette paytable. The other three options have a reducing straight-up number payout, depending on how many multipliers you like to qualify for. XL Roulette pays 29:1 for 1 – 5 Multipliers, XXL Roulette pays 23:1 for 2 – 8 multipliers, XXXL Roulette Pays 17:1 for 3 to 11 multipliers.
There are a number of ways to play XL Roulette, although, none of the strategies will guarantee a winning multiplier. The only way to ensure you have bet on a number that becomes a multiplier is to Bet on All numbers. However, you are likely to lose over the long term by doing this. A better strategy is to bet on sections of the wheel in the hope you bag a multiplier that way.
There are two ways you can win by playing XL Roulette. The first is to place your bets on Outside bets. These have a better chance of winning but do not qualify for the Multipliers. The second is to play your normal game of roulette and treat the multipliers like a side bet. Concentrate on getting the main number win rather than a multiplier.
XL Roulette can be played at any casino that has Authentic Gaming live dealer games. Popular casinos include Leo Vegas and Mr Green.
The RTP is 97.30%, the same as standard European Roulette, and is true for all versions of the game.
XL Roulette has been designed as a mobile-first product. It’s been perfectly optimised for Mobile. The game is due to be released on Desktop (post-May 2021), so if you don’t see it in the lobby, check on your mobile as it will be there.

Authentic XL Roulette has made a refreshing change to the new range of multiplier live roulette games on the market.
While the concept of the game is a copy of Lightning Roulette, the additional playing options are not.
Players now have the ability to opt for up to eleven multipliers a spin. But this comes at a cost, with the straight-up number payout reduced to a poor 17:1.
Even when you’re playing the more advanced option which can give up to eleven multipliers, there is no guarantee that will happen.
In fact, you may be better off play the XL Roulette mode, which gives up to five multipliers with a 29:1 payout for a straight-up number.
This game suits players that like the additional thrill of getting a payout up to 500x.
For me roulette is difficult enough, even just getting a normal straight-up win is a challenge, so with the added multipliers, it’s doubly difficult.
My advice is to play regular roulette, or play XL Roulette and treat the multipliers like a side bet.
If you like to try other Live Roulette games with multipliers, can I suggest the following?
