How Quantum Roulette Works

dealer introducing quantum roulette
Quantum Multipliers

Essentially the game is standard European Roulette.

The difference is the addition of up to 5 Multipliers being added to random straight up numbers.

The multipliers range from 50x in 50x increments up to 500x.

A Quantum Boost can randomly trigger which adds an additional 50x to a multiplier, while Quantum Leap will randomly double or triple a multiplier up to a max of 500x.

The multipliers are chosen at random by a random number generator (RNG) as is the quantity and numbers chosen.

The Multipliers are only applied to straight up numbers and are only paid if the ball lands on that selected number.

Non multiplier, straight up numbers pay 29:1, rather than the standard 35:1 on European and American Roulette.

The multipliers are assigned after betting has closed and before the wheel is spun.

An Auto Slingshot Roulette wheel is used during the game.

The dealer or presenter has no interaction with the wheel which is controlled through compressed air and lasers for reading the result.

Strategies for Playing Quantum Roulette

If you’re expecting to hit the 500x multipliers on a regular basis you need to think again.

The high end multiplers don’t appear that often and when they do you’ve still got the challenge of it becoming a winning number. That should tell you everything you need to know about the game.

However, never say never as my Mum used to say

There is a number of betting strategies you can adopt that will give you a better chance of hitting a multiplier.

Your attitude to risk and how deep your pockets are will probably determine the best one for you.

So what are these strategies?

Bet on all Numbers

Yep, this sounds silly, but with this strategy you are guaranteed to get a winning number on every spin and sometimes that wining number will have a multiplier attached to it.

  • Guaranteed to get a straight up number win.
  • Guaranteed to get a Multiplier win when it comes in.
  • On most spins you’ll win less that you’ve bet.
  • You need a big balance to ride out the normal wins
  • An early Multiplier win will have leaving the table in profit.
  • A late Multiplier win may recover your depleted balance.
  • You stand to lose all your balance eventuality if no multipliers come in.

betting all quantum roulette numbers

Bet on a section of the Wheel.

Note: Multipliers are only paid on straight up bets. If you use the race track to place your bets, make sure you replace any split numbers with who bets.

  • You’re making a smaller bet.
  • More recognised betting pattern
  • Exploiting Sectors of the wheel.

  • Less number covered means less chance of a win.
  • You’re more likely to use your balance up quickly.
  • You’re likely to miss multipliers when they hit.

Treat the Straight Up bet as a side bet.

If you don’t play straight up numbers normally, just play your normal game and place a straight up number bet as you would a side bet. If you win, great, If not, no worries.

Straight Up Bet

Scatter Gun Approach

Just bet on numbers you like and as many as you normally play.

  • Going with something familiar may bring results.

  • As a strategy this isn’t a good approach as there is no structure in place to determine the likely outcome.

Is Playing Quantum Roulette Fair?

Given my experience in live dealer games and an understanding of the technology I would say yes.

However there is a cross section of players that would believe the opposite.

For every argument I make for, there is just as a compelling argument against. Something that the conspiracy theorists love!

Let me explain my thinking.

There’s 3 elements that make up Quantum Roulette:

  1. The Wheel & Ball.
  2. The RNG Software.
  3. The Dealer.

Let’s deal with each one.

The Wheel

The Wheel is a Cammargh fully automated Slingshot Wheel.

This is a real roulette wheel that’s been sealed and is operated using compressed air, advanced motors and lasers. The result is a full proof roulette experience without needing a dealer to operate it.

The wheel is constantly monitored and adjusted to ensure it remains in complete balance, thus reducing the opportunity for any wheel bias to occur.

The RNG Software

I have to hold my hand up and say I don’t know who provides the RNG software. But what I do know is it has to go through rigorous testing to ensure it does produce random results.

All Software like this needs to be certified and all results logs need to be retained so they can be examined by the regulators.

The Dealer

The dealer plays no part in spinning the wheel or introducing the ball. The game is played without a human touching it,therefore ruling out any collusion opportunities.

Just these three things, all of which are not connected with each other, give me the reassurance the game is not fixed.

Just more more thing

Multiple Casinos use Quantum Roulette, with players placing bets from all over the world.

The likelihood of there being an massive bias towards one number or range on numbers being bet on is small.

There’s probably a fairly even distribution of bets across all numbers.

If the game was fixed it would favour no-one, some players would win more, some less and the same for the casinos.

The margins would be to low to warrant having an extensive conspiracy to defraud players.

The monitoring, records, suppliers, dealers, technical staff, studio operator and even the licencors would have to be involved.

And then everyone having to keep it secret for ever.

In my opinion, no chance of the happening!

That’s why I believe the game is fair!

Quantum Roulette playing Interface

The playing interface is the standard one Playtech uses for all of its roulette games.

While this is OK for most Roulette tables, the lack of specific Special Bets types make placing bets to get the multipliers more difficult than it needs to be.

Given the multipliers only pay for straight up bets, it would be better if there was an option on the race track to place single number bets on the wheel, rather than split bets when covering a particular section of the wheel.

Game Statistics

The real time statistics show the last 12 spins, which might be OK for regular Roulette, but when you’re betting to get multipliers it’s not enough.

If you’re like me, I like to bet trends or probabilities, so seeing past results is an essential part of the process when making my betting decisions. If I could have one improvement it would be to show the last 500 spin results.

Live Quantum Roulette is a good alternative to Lightning Roulette. It has two unique features in the The Quantum Leap and Boost, but these don’t really add anything to the playing experience. It’s just a fancy way to get the multipliers up.

The Studio design and the Live Dealer Presenters are the best part of the game.

I’m not a huge fan of a reduced payout for regular straight up numbers. It’s robbing Peter to pay Paul. But I guess they have to fund the multipliers somehow.

The good news is Playtech fans now have somewhere to play a game similar to Lightning Roulette. It should should also please the casinos that up to now have had a gap in their games portfolio.
