How is Evolution 2 Hand Casino Hold’em Played?

Evolution live 2 Hand Casino Hold’em is played with one deck of 52 Playing cards. The cards are shuffled after each game round using a auto shuffling machine.

The dealer alternates the use of two decks to maintain a speedy game.

The main objective of the game is to beat the dealer by having a better 5 card poker hand.

Two cards are dealt to each of the two player positions and the dealers position. 5 community cards are then dealt, with each playing position making the best 5 card poker hand they can.

If the players hand is better than the dealers, the player wins.

An additional Bonus side bet can be played alongside the main hand, which pays out regardless of the outcome of the main hand. i.e you could lose the main hand, but still win the bonus side bet.

The choice for the player is whether to play one or both of the player hands.

Initial Betting

Before any cards are dealt, an initial Ante bet must be placed to join the game.

Players can bet on one or both player positions, each hand plays against the dealers hand.

Hand 1 is on the right, Hand 2 on the left.

An optional Bonus Side bet can be played, but you must stake 2x the Ante to play it.

This bet pays out if the players hand forms a poker hand and is paid even if the dealer beats the main hand.

Betting after the Flop

The players hand postions 1 and 2 get dealt 2 cards face up.

The dealers two cards are dealt face down.

After a small pause the 3 Flop cards are dealt.

The decision to play either of the hands depends on what the value of the 5 card hand your showing.

If you believe the hand will beat the dealer or will be improved after the turn and river cards are dealt, then you should play the hand.

If not, fold.

Using a Playing Strategy can help you make the best playing decision.

You’ll notice that the Bonus bet remains active even if you’ve folded the main hand.

The Showdown

After the players have completed their decision, the dealer deals the remaining two community cards, the Turn and the River.

At this point all the hands are compared with the dealers hand.

The dealer needs at least a Pair of 4’s in his hand to qualify. If he’s not got that, Call Bets are returned to the player and the Ante bet is paid out according to the table above.

If the dealer’s hand qualifies and the dealer’s hand is lower than the player’s, the Player Wins. The Ante bet is paid out and the Call bet pays 1 to 1.

The player loses if the dealer’s hand qualifies and is higher than the player’s. Both the Ante and Call bet is lost.

A Push results when the player and dealers hands are exactly the same. In this case, nobody wins and the call and Ante bets are returned.

Playing Strategies for 2 Hand Casino Hold’em

Each hand in 2 Hand Casino Hold’em should be played on it’s own merits. There is no strategy to consider when you’re playing both hands.

The beauty about Live Casino Hold’em in general is the information you have before you need to place your play bet.

At that point your two hole cards have been dealt and the 3 Cards of the flop are visible. That there is already a 5 card poker hand. So you can easily assess if whether you have a strong hand, a hand that can be improved or a weak hand that’s likely to lose.

Remember that the dealer has to have a pair of 4’s or above to qualify. A pair within the community cards can be dangerous to the player, unless you have a high kicker card in your hand or a third to make trips.

Here’s some basic strategies that you should consider when making your Play bet.

  • Play of you pair the board with one of your Hole cards.
  • If you have Ace or King high in your hole cards play the hand.
  • If both your hole cards are higher than the flop cards (Over Cards), play the hand.
  • Play if you have a Queen or Jack high and the board is not suited.
  • If you only need one card to complete a straight or flush, play the hand.
  • Fold a flopped pair on the board, unless you have Jack high or more, or a straight or flush draw.
  • Anything else, Fold.

Summary

I was a bit skeptical about 2 Hand Casino Hold’em. I really couldn’t see the appeal until I’d played a few hands.

The difference for me, between this and the standard Casino Hold’em is the feeling that the Dealer isn’t always getting the best hands.

Having an additional hand seems to break up the good hands and you feel you’ve got more of a chance to beat the dealer.

The downside of the game is the speed at which it’s played.

The early part is paced fine, however when the dealer reveals his hand and the winning hands are decided it’s all done a bit too quick for me.

I like to study the hands and see with my own eyes, rather than just accepting the results blindly.

I can manage it if I’m playing one hand, but not if I’m playing both.

Otherwise, this is still a good game and the bonus payouts for a Pair of Aces or better is worth playing for a minimum of 7:1 payout.
