Mega Baccarat is a straightforward game, so if you want to know what’s what, here is a rundown of the key facts that should get you playing immediately.

• Mega Baccarat is played with 8 decks of playing cards that are replaced once the cutting card appears.
• There are five betting positions, Player, Banker, Tie, Banker Pair and Player Pair.
• Multipliers between 2x and 100x are randomly applied to each betting position.

This game is unique in how the Mega multipliers have been included. While you have to play them, you don’t have to be a fan of Baccarat to enjoy the buzz of getting a multiplier win.

The core game plays as a traditional Baccarat, so all the strategies and use of the roadmaps still apply. The Mega Round is almost like a side bet that uses all the betting positions, so you have a chance however you play the game.

There are twelve seconds of betting time, during which you can place your bets on the Banker/Player and Tie Positions.

There are also two side bets, the Player Pair and Banker Pair, which win if the initial two cards in either hand are a Pair.

Once betting time has been completed, the game enters the mega Round phase.

Note: A 20% fee, the Mega Fee, is automatically added to your bet. This pays for the Multipliers. There is no option to opt out.

The Mega Round is where the multipliers are added to each betting position. This is a random process, with multipliers between 2x and 100x assigned to some or all bet positions.

These multipliers become active for the game round if the sum result of two dice, shaken in a dice shaker, is eight or nine.

If the result is anything else, the multipliers are removed from the playing interface and the standard payout amounts stand.

In Baccarat, the value of a card is a single digit. In the case of single-digit cards, like Ace through to 9, the value is the face value.

You take the last digit to give its value for cards with two digits, like Jack, Queen, and King. So a ten becomes zero.

When two card values are added together, if the value is a single digit that will be its value. If it’s two digits, let’s say 13, then the value will be 3, the last digit.

The dealer deals two cards to each hand. Then depending on their value, they will deal a third card, using the third card rule.

Once the deal has been completed, the hands are compared, with the hand closest to nine declared the winner.

If both hands are tied, the game is a draw, and all bets are returned to the players.

Payouts are per the standard payout table unless the Mega Multipliers are in play, boosting the payouts to the lucky winners.

One optional Side Bet – Pairs can be played on the Banker and Player positions.

This side bet pays if the first two cards dealt to the Banker or Player are a Pair.

The payout is 10:1, regardless of the type of Pair:

• Mixed Pair – where the cards are the same value but are a red and black card
• Coloured Pair – where both the cards are the same colour and value.
• Perfect Pair, where the cards are identical, value and suit.

In other Baccarat games, each pair type would have a different payout value, but in Mega Baccarat, the payout is just 10:1 regardless of the pair type.

The mega multipliers significantly impact the payouts, increasing them all by a maximum of 100x.

The biggest payouts are reserved for the Pair Side Bets, which have an impressive 1000x. These bets are, of course, riskier, but they give the biggest payday when they hit.

The RTP for Mega Baccarat is the same as traditional Baccarat, at 98.79%, as no changes have been made to the core game.

The Mega Multipliers are paid for by the 20% fee, which keeps it friendly and straightforward without reducing payouts on the core game.

The Tie payout of 8:1 is in line with other Baccarat games.

I should start by saying there is no way to influence or determine where the Mega Multipliers will be placed and their values.

Also, there is no way to influence or determine the result of the dice shakes. All are controlled through RNG and physical dice.

I will say, however, that the RNG engine must do two things: deliver random multipliers to the bet positions and make sure the RTP of the game is delivered.

So while there is no manipulation, the RNG has to operate in a certain way, so keeping an eye on past results may help determine when the multipliers might be good.

So any Strategy for Mega Baccarat is about the main playing hand and how to play that.

Traditionally in Baccarat, players use the Baccarat Roadmaps to look at trends and help determine what might happen next by looking back at previous results.

The cynic in me says this is rubbish, but enough people use the roadmaps, so maybe there is something in it.

My first advice is don’t worry about the multipliers – they will happen when they happen. Concentrate more on your bankroll management and how you play each hand.

I traditionally use a very simple strategy. I like to follow trends, so I use past results as a way of helping me decide where to place my first bet.

I place a bet on where the last win was and continue doing so until I lose when I switch to the other side while doubling my bet.

Here are some tips if you’re new to Multiplier games and Baccarat.

1. Don’t worry about the multipliers. You’ll get them when they happen. There is nothing you can do to predict or influence them. Accept them like they are a side bet.
2. Manage your bankroll. Don’t bet more than 5% of your bankroll on any one hand.
3. Because there are multipliers, I’d recommend placing small bets on the Pairs’ side bets. They have the potential to pay big, but be aware they don’t happen that often.
4. Use a betting strategy rather than just randomly placing bets. You may not win more, but you’ll play in a managed way.
5. Remember, Baccarat is essentially a Coin Flip game. However, Banker usually wins more time in the long term – hence the lower payout of 0.95:1.

While Mega Baccarat and Lightning Baccarat are both Baccarat games with Multipliers, the games a structured differently.

At the core, they are both Baccarat games, but the way the multipliers come into play is entirely different.

• Both games charge a 20% fee.
• In Lightning Baccarat, up to 5 cards in the shoe are selected to have multipliers. When these are dealt into a hand, they multiply the payout.
• Mega Baccarat has multipliers on bet positions, chosen by an RNG engine and activated through a dice roll procedure.
• The RTP of both games is 98.76%.
• The base payouts on Lightning Roulette for the Pairs side bet and Ties are less than in Mega Baccarat.
• The maximum possible payout on Lightning Baccarat is  310,720 on a Tied hand, while the maximum payout n Mega Baccarat is 1000x on the Pairs side bet.

I think Mega Baccarat is more straightforward, and I like the simplicity of the multipliers being on bet positions rather than individual cards.
