Power Up Roulette is Pragmatic Play’s second live roulette game with multipliers. But that is where the comparison with Mega Roulette ends. While the two games deliver multiplier wins, powerup roulette does it differently, with the maximum multiplier being a possible 8000x!
Using the innovative Power Up feature, first seen in Boom City Live, all numbers receive a multiplier during the Power Up round. You win if you’ve got an active bet on the numbered pocket where the ball comes to rest! Multiple powerups are possible, boosting the value of the multipliers on the board.
In this review, I’ll explain how to play Power Up Roulette, discuss some of the strategies for play and demonstrate the game in my video review.

Let’s start by explaining how the PowerUP works.
Before each game, either three, four or five numbers get selected as PowerUP numbers.
If the ball lands on one of these numbers, the PowerUP Bonus round initiates. You don’t need to have a bet on the Power UP number to be able to enter the bonus round, but you will need to have some straight-up bets to be in with a chance of winning a multiplier. Incidentally, if you have bet on a winning PowerUP number, you’ll receive a payout as per the pay table.
During the PowerUP round, multipliers get assigned to every grid number. You can tell before the assignment where the biggest multipliers are likely to be by the power metre above each of the columns. The more bars, the higher the multipliers will be.
If this is the first PowerUP, the multipliers will range from 50x to 500x. PowerUP numbers get selected for every spin. It’s possible to win extra PowerUP during the bonus round. When this happens, the multipliers on the board increase. If a second PowerUP occurs, the maximum will be 1000x, the third will be 2000x, the fourth, 4000x, and the fifth will be 8000x.
The presenter spins the wheel, and wherever the ball comes to rest will be the winning multiplier. You’ll need an active bet on that number to win.
To clarify. The PowerUP numbers initiate the bonus round. The straight-up bets you initially make remain on the table for the bonus round. It’s these that will determine if you win or lose.
Let’s start with some basics.
The game round starts with 20 seconds of betting time, during which you place your bets on the table.
You can do this by placing them directly on the table or using the Race Track or the options in the Special Bets Menu.
You can also place bets using the statistics screen.
Remember: Only Straight-up bets qualify for the multipliers.
Bet | Details | Payout |

Inside Bets | ||
Straight-Up | Covers 1 number | 24-7999:1 |
Split | Covers 2 adjacent numbers | 17:1 |
Street | Covers 3 numbers in a line | 11:1 |
Corner | Cover 4 numbers where they all meet | 8:1 |
6 Line | Covers 6 numbers (2 Streets) | 5:1 |
Outside Bets | ||
Dozen/Column | Covers 12 numbers | 2:1 |
Red/Black | Covers 18 Numbers each | 1:1 |
Odd/Even | Covers 18 Numbers each | 1:1 |
Low (1-18)/HIgh (19-36) | Covers 18 numbers | 1:1 |
The Power Up numbers get randomly selected from the 37 numbers on the betting grid. Three to five numbers make up the PowerUP numbers, which display by the side of the betting grid.
There is a little information symbol beside it, which, when pressed, shows which of your bets cover the PowerUp Numbers.
The game also randomly decides where the multipliers will be on the betting grid for a PowerUP round. You get a hint of what to expect from the grid lines at the top of each column. The more lines, the bigger the multipliers in that section will be.
The Dealer spins the wheel from the last result position, always in the opposite direction from the previous spin.
If the ball lands on a regular straight-up number, the playing interface performs the payouts and the next game round proceeds with betting time.
If the result is one of the power-up numbers, the PowerUP bonus round starts.
The process is:
If the result is a PowerUP number, the multipliers on the board get doubled, and the presenter spins the wheel again.
PowerUPs can retrigger a maximum of four times. Each time they increase the multipliers up to a maximum of 8000x.
If you have bet on one of the PowerUP numbers, it gets paid at the rate of the multiplier displayed.
In theory, if there were five rounds of PowerUPs and you had a bet on each number, and that number was the biggest on the board, you’d end up with a payout of 15525x!
If the ball lands on a number, those players with a straight-up bet on that number win the multiplier value displayed.
The Bonus round ends, and the game starts again.
As you’d expect, a comprehensive set of statistics is available for PowerUP Roulette.
You can display up to the last 500 results. It’s possible to see the results by:
You can use any statistics to place a bet when beating time is open.
Of all the multiplier games, this is the one where I feel you have a great chance to win a multiplier.
You feel that any straight-up bets you place have an equal chance of winning.
What’s more, the PowerUPs seem to occur at regular intervals.
While it’s not like Lightning Roulette, where the multipliers are available every game round, that doesn’t seem to matter when you’re playing.
I think it’s how the game is structured; you get this sense that you have a chance.
The most obvious thing to say is you must be betting on a straight-up number to have a chance of winning a multiplier.
So it follows that the more numbers you cover, the greater your chance. Honestly, it’s as simple as that.
So, let’s look at some strategies to make winning or losing less – happen.
For me, strategies are not about winning. Of course, we’d like to think there are strategies to win, but let’s face it, if you’ve been gambling a while, you know that isn’t true.
Strategies are for extending your enjoyment of the game. They should enable you to get wins and, at the same time, reduce the impact of losses. Hopefully, if you get the balance correct, you’ll play for a long time and may even walk away from the table or up.
Interesting fact, did you know that 95% of people visiting Las Vegas lose, 4% break even and 1% win? That’s staggering!
It’s true of online gambling too.
Now that we’ve established a strategy let’s look at what will work with Power Up Roulette.
In PowerUP Roulette, the aim is to get a winning multiplier. To do that, you have to be playing straight-up bets.
Managing your Bankroll is vital.
Try where you can to place bets to give you some return. That means making different bet types.
The ones with a higher probability of winning – i.e. the Outside bets are where you should place most of your money.
The rest should go on the straight-up bets. Winning a straight-up bet will return 24 units, so depending on how many straight-up bets you place, you should place an equal value on the outside bets. That way, if the straight-up bets lose, you’ve got an equal chance (almost) of the outside bet winning and allowing you to break even.
Another Option is to forget about Outside Bets entirely and rely on winning the Straight-up Bets.
If you use this tactic, try not to bet more than 24 units and cover as much of the wheel as possible. A win will have you break even; a loss loses you 24 units. You’ll unlikely lose every spin, so be prepared for your Bankroll to go up and down. Note: you will need a sizable bankroll to do this, or keep the chip value low and rely on getting a decent multiplier to make a profit.
The most important fact is only to bet what you can afford to lose and play for enjoyment. The enjoyment you get when you get a multiplier is fantastic!
Along with Lightning, XXXTreme, Quantum, XL, Mega and SuperStake, PowerUP Roulette sits in the live casino roulette with multipliers category of live dealer games.
However, while PowerUP Roulette takes some of the synergies from the other games, it stands independently because of its presentation. Additionally, it has the outside chance of producing a multiplier of 8000x, far exceeding anything other games can deliver.
The game doesn’t require feature buys and plays in a way that doesn’t encourage a bet-all type strategy.
You feel you have a chance. Every number is allocated a Multiplier during the bonus round, so as long as you have a straight-up bet on the table, you have a chance of winning.
There are effectively two stages to the game. The first is the regular spin of the wheel and the second is the PowerUP Bonus Round, which starts once it’s triggered.
The game rounds are a bit longer, but this is about entertainment.
Multiple Power Ups can boost the payouts, so there is a real chance to get some decent wins.

What a refreshing change. PowerUP Roulette isn’t a clone of other multiplier roulette games.
The presentation of the game is excellent. It’s perhaps the biggest studio I’ve seen for a game of Roulette which allows the dealer to present the game in the best possible way.
The big screen behind the wheel clearly shows the grid and multipliers clearly, and I like the nice touches in the playing interface that instantly provide the information you need.
Making straight-up bets is easy as they’ve created a range of Special Bets to cover what you’re likely to need.
The innovative PowerUP can boost the multiplier up to 8000x. What’s more, you bank the wins as the Powerups happen, giving a possible payout of more than 15000x if the stars align!
I can’t think of anything I don’t like in this game. Generally, I wouldn’t say I like multiplier roulette games, so that is praise enough.
PowerUP Roulette is an exciting live dealer roulette game with Multipliers from Pragmatic Play. Enter the PowerUP rounds, where all straight-up numbers get multipliers and up to 4 chances to boost the payouts up to 8000x.
The maximum multiplier you can win is 8000x. Five consecutive PowerUP numbers need drawing to achieve the maximum. If you’ve got a winning bet on the maximum multiplier each round, you’ll end up with a 15,525x maximum payout. The maximum for one PowerUp is 500x.
It’s worth trying PowerUP roulette if you like live games with multipliers. This version has a slightly different take, where all numbers are given multipliers in the PowerUP bonus round. It’s different from what you’ve played before.
The RTP is 97.30%. For the straight-up bets, the RTP is 97.19%.
There are specific strategies you can use to play. Whether you win is another matter. I don’t think anyone can guarantee that. I have some techniques I use when playing PowerUP Roulette that may help. Steer away from Martingale, as this game only pays multipliers on Straight-up bets.
You can play PowerUP Roulette at all Pragmatic Play Live Casinos. My personal favourite is BetVictor.
