Live Sweet Bonanza Candyland is a new live casino entertainment game from Pragmatic Play. It’s their first actual entertainment-style game to rival Evolution with Crazy Time and Playtech with Adventures Beyond Wonderland.
The theme is Pragmatic’s top-rated slot game, Sweet Bonanza.
A giant wheel of fortune containing fifty-four segments is the game’s central focus, but it’s the nine unique segments on the wheel where players can find the big payouts.
These segments initiate separate bonus rounds that can pay up to 20,000x if certain conditions occur.
The main wheel has fifty-four sections made up of forty-five numbered sections with the following values:
In addition, nine sections are Bonus round segments:
The maximum multiplier available on Sweet Bonanza Candyland is 20,000x, with payouts capped at £$€500,000.
In this review, I will explain how you play and demonstrate some playing strategies. I’ve also asked the good people at Pragmatic Play for further information about the game, which may help answer some of your questions.
The game begins with betting time, which is open for 13 seconds. So it would be best if you were quick in placing your bets.
The Bet On All function will place the same value bet on all bet spots – but it’s not something I would recommend. Jump to my strategy section for some excellent advice.
Use the Autoplay function to repeat the same bet for a specific number of spins. The maximum is 100 spins.
Each Bet spot has a different payout – quite simply, the payout corresponds to the number:
The bonus segments can pay anything from 1x through to 20,000x
The Sugar Bomb Booster is an optional side bet of 25% of the value of the primary wager, which will double all multipliers during the Sugar Bomb Bonus round, which is free to play for all players.
When betting has closed, the presenter spins the wheel, and we wait as the flapper at the top provides resistance to the wheel until it finally stops.
The segment where the flapper stops is the winning segment, and all players betting on that segment receive their payouts.
If the flapper stops on a bonus segment, the game continues. Otherwise, the game ends, and a new round begins.
The Candy Drop Bonus Round is an RNG game where you pick one of three coloured candies to follow.
One by one, each candy drops into a 4-row maze that contains multiplier symbols. The candy collects the multipliers as it falls through the maze, finally arriving at the bottom with an accumulated total of multipliers. The multiplier for your candy becomes your payout.
If your candy drops through all purple boxes on the way down, you’ll get a 1000x multiplier.
The Sweet Spins bonus round plays on a 6×5 slot screen that uses a tumbling action rather than spins on the reels.
The game starts with Ten spins, which can be boosted with extra spins when three or more Lollypops appear on the reels.
Multiplier Sugar Bombs are also present, and they multiply a win when eight or more symbols tumble from the grid.
Each spin completes when no more tumbles occur.
Sweet Spins is the bonus round that has the potential for big wins.
The Sugar Bomb Bonus round, when landed on, will randomly select a multiplier between 2x to 10x to apply to all betting positions on the wheel.
The wheel is spun again (without needing any more bets). If the wheel stops on a segment with an active wager, you’ll receive the enhanced payout.
The Sugar Bomb multiplier can also apply to bonus segments. If the wheel lands on a bonus segment, the final bonus round result gets multiplied by the Sugar Bomb multiplier.
If you have paid for the optional Bomb Boost, the Sugar Bomb Multiplier will double in value. The maximum multiplier for one Boost on a number is 200x on the number ten position.
The Bubble Surprise Bonus round is a slot with one reel that contains five symbols. The wheel spins, and whatever symbol the wheel stops on is your prize.
There are five possible outcomes.
The Playing Interface contains some helpful information that can help when placing your bets.
There is a comprehensive view of the last set of results.
Along the bottom of the screen, you’ll see the last 100; while selecting the statistic icon, you can view up to 500 past results.
Statistics are helpful information if you like working with probabilities and seeing when the last bonus rounds or specific numbers last occurred in the results.
Exercise some care if you plan to use these statistics to work out how to bet. I’ve discussed some of the problems to look out for in my article that discusses using statistics and trackers when making bets.
The playing strategy for Live Sweet Bonanza Candyland will involve deciding on which sections to bet on to achieve two things:
My favoured strategy is always to have a good bet on the Number One and bets to cover all the bonus segments.
I make sure that the value of the bet on No.1 is enough so that when it wins, it covers the losses from the other bets and retains a small profit.
No.1 will statistically drop in the most, so this will keep your bankroll turning over while you search for the Sugar Bomb, Bubble Surprise, Candy Drop and Sweet Spin bonus rounds.
Place four units on number 1, one unit on Candy Drop, one on Bubble Surprise and one unit on Sweet Spins. You’ll win 1 unit overall if number one comes in and lose seven units if two or five lands.
The only downside is you won’t have a guaranteed win for the Sugar Bomb bonus round, which has a maximum multiplier of 10x (20x if you have the Boost active). The bonus applies to all betting positions, with 100x being the highest possible when applied to the number five position. As it’s free to enter, you may decide it’s not worth paying the extra for the doubled multiplier and not worth covering all numbers for the rare occasion this bonus comes in.
In my opinion, you shouldn’t play the Sugar Bomb Booster. It adds 25% of your total bet to your bet when hitting this bonus round is only going to happen 3.5% of the time. It’s not a good bet. Playing the Booster will probably lose more than what you’ll win.
Many players think the bet All strategy will pay dividends in the long run. Well, they are wrong. There may be a short-term gain, but only if you’ve hit a bonus round that pays more than what you have outlaid.
You’ll never recoup your lost bets with a big win over a short period. You’ll run out of money before that happens. Stay away from the All Bets bet.
The Return to Play for Sweet Bonanza Candyland Live runs between 91.59% and 96.95%.
It’s unclear where or how the RTP allocates; however, you should expect the Number One segment to have most of the 96.95%.
The wheel is most likely to stop on the Number One segment. The worst performing will be the Sweet Spins Bonus segment, which has a hit rate of 1.85% as it occupies one segment of the wheel.
The maximum multiplier is 20,000x, achievable when there are four consecutive Sugar Bonus multipliers of 10x and then hitting number two on the wheel. Is this possible? Of course, it is, but the odds of this happening are enormous.
Number | Segments | Payout | Probability |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 23 | 1:1 | 42.59% |
2 | 15 | 2:1 | 27.77% |
5 | 7 | 5:1 | 12.96% |
Bubble Surprise | 3 | 5.55% | |
Candy Drop | 2 | 3.70% | |
Sugar Bomb | 3 | 2x to 10x (doubled if Boost is active) | 5.55% |
Sweet Spins | 1 | 1.85% |
Sweet Bonanza Candyland has the potential to give some big wins. As we know, the maximum multiplier that can be applied is 20,000x, with a cap on payouts of £€$500,000.
So let’s examine how these can occur.
The Sugar Bomb Bonus will boost any segment on the wheel, including the Bonus segments, with up to a 10x multiplier. It is possible to have consecutive Sugar Bomb Bonuses. When this happens, the new multiplier is multiplied by the previous one, thus further boosting the potential payouts. It’s fair to say that having a single or multiple multipliers going into the Candy Drop or Sweet Spins bonuses will create some massive wins.
The Candy Drop Bonus Round has the potential to pay 1000x when the candy passes through all the purple squares. Imagine having a 10x Sugar Bomb Boost active when this happens!
The Sweet Spins round is where the real big wins are. It’s possible to get respins in this bonus round which will keep the tumbles going. Imagine a situation where you have a Sugar Bomb Bonus active and then get respins. Again massive potential.
The best you can hope for with the Bubble Surprise is for it to trigger the Sweet Spins Bonus round, and you get a good session. Otherwise, the Red Heart symbol with its 25x payout is the best you’ll get from this bonus round.
The Sugar Bomb multipliers are most likely to occur on the number segments. The wins won’t be massive, but they will be 2x to 10x. Again, multiple Bombs boost everything as well.
Both games follow the same type of design, a Big Wheel with Bonus rounds.
The main difference between the two games is in the number of bonus rounds and how RNG is used in the game.
Crazy Time uses RNG in three elements, The Cash Hunt, Crazy Time and Top Slot, while Sweet Bonanza Candyland uses RNG in all of its four bonus rounds.
Player participation occurs in the main rounds and in the Cash Hunt, Crazy Time, and Candy Drop bonus rounds.
In my opinion, the playing experience in Crazy Time is better than in Sweet Bonanza, primarily because Crazy Time builds suspense so well during the different elements of the game.
This is a new live casino entertainment game from Pragmatic Play. It is played using a big wheel where you bet on number segments and bonus rounds. You win if the wheel stops on a segment you’ve bet on.
The RTP of Sweet Bonanza Candyland is between 91.59% and 96.95%.
You can play Sweet Bonanza Candyland at all Pragmatic Play Live Casinos. Mr Green is a great example of where to play.
The maximum multiplier is 20,000 times your bet.
Sweet Bonanza Candyland is a live dealer game that has a live and RNG element to it. The main part of the game is hosted by a live presenter, while the bonus rounds are RNG.
Sweet Bonanza Candyland is the same type of game but is not as interactive as the other two. All have the potential to offer very large multipliers. I think it’s down to personal taste on which game you prefer.
The game show, Live Sweet Bonanza Candyland, went live on the 24th of November 2021, and is available at all Pragmatic Play Casinos.
The game will be available to players covered by the following jurisdictions, MGA (Malta), UKGC (United Kingdom), Isle of Man, Italy, Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania and Colombia.
Yes, there is a strategy for playing. In fact, there are several, but only one strategy is really worth playing if you want to maintain your bankroll.

I’m really pleased to see another supplier add a live entertainment game to their games catalogue.
Pragmatic Sweet Bonanza Candyland Live follows the high standards already set by Evolution and Playtech. The game looks similar with its big wheel and bonus rounds but doesn’t quite play the same.
Initially, I found the game to be a little flat and by that I mean I didn’t get any high’s or lows while playing. Perhaps that was to do with not experiencing any wins of more than 100x while I was playing.
However Pragmatic has made a number of modifications to the game since its first release with the newer version being more playable. They introduced an additional bonus round, removed a number from the wheel and increase the RTP marginally. You now get the sense you could win, more often than lose – but be careful because that is not the case. The game is volatile so watch out!
The game has the elements to give big multiplier wins, but it needs a Sugar Bomb Multiplier to be active and then a Bonus round to follow, ideally the Sweet Spins round, where the multipliers seem to be more forthcoming. This will give the best multiplier win opportunities.
Picking the right betting strategy is crucial to get the most out of this game. You’re likely to need long playing sessions to get all the bonus rounds, and while most will pay quite poorly, there will be the odd one where a decent win happens. That is the beauty of games like this, they keep you playing in the hope you’ll get that big win.
Personally, I’d be satisfied with breaking even after an hours worth of play.
