Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live Casino is a live dealer entertainment game show by Playtech Live.
Based on the popular themed slot, Adventures Beyond Wonderland, this game uses a modified live Spin A Win wheel to drive the game. The objective for live casino players is to bet on segments of the wheel, which are either a Number or one of 4 Bonus Rounds. When the wheel stops on a segment you’ve bet on you’ll either win a cash prize, or an entry into one of the four bonus rounds, where multipliers can be won against your initial bet.
Wins are capped at €500,000, as there is an opportunity for multipliers to be multiplied, giving some really big wins.
The game uses 3 wheels, one for the main game round, and two for the WonderSpins bonus rounds.
The Mad Hatter and Alice roles are played by willing presenters, while the White Rabbit and Caterpillar are animated characters that make appearances during the bonus game rounds.
Playtech Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live is a totally immersive game containing familiar characters from the Lewis Carroll book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It’s likely to have you playing for hours in the hope of getting some nice wins.
The game starts with you placing a bet or bets on the betting grid.
There are four numbers you can bet on, One, Two, Five, and Ten. There are also 3 Bonus Segments, Magic Dice, 2 WonderSpins, and 5 Wonderspins. You have to bet on a segment for you to win if the wheel stops on that segment.
There are two Mystery Segments on the wheel, which can’t be bet on, but if the wheel lands on these, a special prize is given to everyone, which is either a multiplier for each number for a free spin or a multiplier for your current bet.
Once betting has closed, the presenter spins the Adventures Beyond Wonderland wheel, waiting for it to stop on a segment.
Depending on where the wheel stops, the game round ends or a bonus round is initiated.
There are five structured bonus rounds that can be triggered when the wheel stops on one of the bonus segments.
There is also a randomly triggered bonus multiplier that appears when the caterpillar blows a bubble gum balloon once betting time has closed. One number on the betting grid is selected to receive this multiplier which is paid out if the wheel stops on that number. This boost is not applied to any bonus segments, just the number sections on the wheel. The Maximum boost value is 10x.
The WonderSpins bonus round uses a special wheel in this free spins round. When 2 or 5 WonderSpins are awarded on the main wheel, the bonus round is initiated. The white rabbit appears and the main wheel rotates on its axis to reveal two new wheels.
The outer, larger wheel contains 54 segments, each matching to an Alice in wonderland character, and each having an initial multiplier assigned to them:
The inner wheel contains multipliers or extra spins to be added to the game round. This wheel is spun while the main wheel rotates, the white rabbit appears and chooses the segment that will receive the additional multiplier.
If the Eat Me or Drink Me segments are landed on, 1 Multiplier is either added or taken away from each of the characters and a respin is performed.
As the bonus rounds proceed through the spins, the multiplier bank builds up, with the total at the end being the multiplier that will be assigned to the original bonus bet. The original bet is not returned.
In the Magic Dice Bonus Round, a grid of 6 columns and 4 rows is displayed. Each of the sections can contain an Advance Arrow, a Multiplier that will be assigned to the whole grid, and individual multipliers. At the top of the grid is the max multiplier of 100 x.
At the beginning of the game round, you have to choose either the red or white dice.
The dice are rolled in an automatic shaker. You go to the column number that is represented by the number that was rolled for your dice.
The dice are rolled again and you go through the same process until you have received a prize or reached the top. The higher you climb the bigger the prize you’ll receive.
The max payout for this game without any multipliers on the game itself is 200x.
There are two Mystery Segments on the wheel. These do not require a bet to have been placed on the betting grid. This bonus round applies to everyone that has placed a valid bet on the betting grid.
One of two prizes is available when this segment is landed on, which one is chosen randomly.
The whole reason for playing the Adventures Beyond Wonderland live game show is the bonus rounds. If you just play the numbers, you’re better off playing Spin A Win, you’ll get a better return.
The wheel contains 54 Segments, with the bonus segments occupying eight of them, so that’s a bonus segment for every 6.75 segments (14.81% of the wheel).
The Maximum RTP for the game is 96.82%. That is calculated on the Number 1 segment. All other segments return below that.
The Bonus Round returns are fairly similar, with the 5 Wonderspins being the best, returning an RTP of 96.67%.
The playing interface comes with the ability to have auto spins, so you can set up your bet and repeat it for up to 99 consecutive spins. Loss and win limits can also be set.

You can play live dealer Adventure Beyond Wonderland in a number of ways, depending on what you want to get out of the game. Whatever way you play, you need to make sure your starting balance is sufficient enough to ride through the losing spins.
Losses on this game will only be made back up from the bonus rounds, as it’s there where the bigger multipliers come in.
On their own, the bonus rounds are unlikely to pay much more than 200x. For example:
The way the bonus rounds are boosted is through the Mystery spin, which puts multipliers onto the segments. Ideally what you’re looking for is consecutive Mystery spins adding multipliers to the wheel and then one of the bonus rounds being selected. It’s only then you’re likely to get the 100x plus wins.
So having some expectations going into the game of how to play will help preserve your bank balance, and hope you get a decent win.
My playing strategy is quite simple.
I cover Number 10 with one unit and the three bonus rounds with one unit each – so that’s a total bet of 4 units. My starting bankroll is 200 units.
I work on the basis that one of my bets will come in every 5 or 6 spins – sometimes it will be lower, sometimes higher, but the average over an extended period – maybe 100 spins will be 6 spins. To break even I’ll need a win of 24x every 6 spins – in reality, I get lower and higher – again I’m looking for an average.
This strategy will turn my money over and keep me in the game for a long time – hours in fact. What this strategy does is get you the opportunity to be playing when the big multiplier win hits – that’s all. in the meantime, you may make some small profits or losses, they won’t be substantial either way.

The Wheels (there are two) and presenter are indeed live, there is no RNG used to determine the result of the wheel.

The game mechanic of using a wheel of fortune to trigger wins and bonus rounds is a familiar sight at live casinos online these days. So it wasn’t difficult to for me understand what Adventures beyond Wonderland live was about when I first saw it.
My first impression was obviously influenced by the games I’ve played before, so it’s difficult not to make some comparisons.
But this game from Playtech stands on its own, regardless of where the influences may have come from.
I really like the theme, especially how the aminated characters have been include and the way the presenters interact with them. Some are clearly scripted, but some not, which made me laugh out loud several times.
The innovative bonus wheels that are hidden behind the main wheel and only revealed for the bonus spin rounds are great. I love that the physical aspect is retained in the game, and we’re not wholly reliant on an RNG engine making all the choices during the bonus rounds.
The same goes for the dice used in the Magic Dice round.
The graphics and sound all work well together, although the general feel of the game is quite dark, I like bright colours.
As for gameplay, it’s smooth and relatively easy to understand once you’ve played a few rounds. I didn’t understand the Magic dice at all when I first saw it and had to read the help file to find out what was going on.
I think the betting grid is too wishy-washy, personally, I’d like bolder colours and a heaver font some I can see them better.
The game statistic icons are just too small, again I’d like them bigger to see them more easily.
The dice shaker for the Magic Dice game is just awful. The dice just seem to skid around rather than being shaken. I don’t know why they just didn’t use one of the sic-bo shakers. This one looks cheap and not really up to the job.
Not quite an area for improvement, but I can’t help think that rotating the wheels could see them go out of balance. This may lead to certain sections being favoured more than others. I guess we’ll have to keep an eye on the results to see if that happens and whether we can benefit from that :-).
Is the game playable? – definitely, yes.
Can I see the potential? – yes, but I think big wins i.e 1000x and above will be very rare.
Will the game suit players with small bankrolls? – definitely.
Since I first played the game back in November there have been a number of improvements to the gameplay, which has resulted in a more even spread of the RTP across all the numbers and bonus segments. There is more feeling that you’ll get something when you play, and while the big wins will still be difficult to come by, more regular small wins will occur more often, keeping you engaged more with the game.
The specific changes were to the Eat Me / Drink Me sections on the bonus wheel, the introduction of random multiplier boosts to the main wheel and a change in the way the Caterpillars multipliers are distributed to the number sections on the wheel during the Mystery bonus round.
