Bet Behind Pro Blackjack is a seven-seat game of live dealer blackjack where you can bet behind one, some, or all of the seats.
A bot (an automatic player) occupies each seat. The bot plays the hands by following the basic blackjack strategy, which makes the game lightning-fast.
The Bots will Hit, Split, Double and Stand according to basic strategy. You can choose in the settings whether to follow their doubles and splits or play more conservatively, which you might do if your Bankroll is low. Just make sure you remember to change the settings!
In this review, I’ll explain how you play and demonstrate some hands in my Video. I’ll highlight some settings you might want to change to make the most of your Bankroll.
The game automatically covers strategies for playing, but I’ll cover them if you’re new to the game.

Let’s start by explaining what Bet Behind is.
Bet Behind is a feature introduced in land-based casinos to allow more than seven seated players to participate in the game.
The term “Bet-Behind” means to place a bet behind one of the players on the table.
That player makes all the playing decisions, and your bet sits behind until the hand is over.
If his hand wins, you get paid. If it loses, you lose your bet. It’s optional for players playing behind to follow when the hand is doubled and split. It’s common for existing players at the table to bet behind other players.
There is a skill in choosing who to Bet Behind. Usually, you pick the seat position that wins most often or the player playing the basic strategy. The trick is knowing when to switch from one to another.
In Live Dealer Blackjack, Bet Behind enables many players to play the same hands on the table without needing extra tables. It’s not the same playing experience as you’re not making any of the playing decisions yourself. Still, that risk is reduced in Bet Behind Pro Blackjack because each playing position follows basic blackjack strategy.
Let’s look at the playing rules for Bet Behind Pro Blackjack
The objective of Blackjack is to beat the dealer.
You can beat the dealer in two ways:
It’s possible to beat the dealer with any hand if he busts out.
The best hand is a natural Blackjack, which consists of an Ace and a Ten Card; the next best is a twenty-one, which consists of three or more cards.
If the dealer and player have the same hand value, this is known as a Push, and the player gets his bet back.
The player has three options once they have received their first two cards.
The dealer has specific rules that he must follow. He must stand on a hand value of seventeen or more. If he’s on Sixteen, he must take a card. The dealer cannot double or split his cards. If his upcard is an Ace, he must offer insurance to players to protect against him having a Blackjack. If he has a blackjack, the game round ends, and those buying insurance win their bet, 2:1, effectively protecting their initial bet.
The first thing to say is you don’t play Bet Behind Pro Blackjack.
All the playing is done for you by Bots, each following Blackjack’s Basic strategy for all the playing decisions.
Your role is to choose which seat to Bet behind and the playing options you want to take when the Bot Doubles or Splits his hand.
Let’s review the game sequence and then look at the playing options.
The game round starts with 10 seconds of betting time.
Select your chip amount and click or dab on the seat position you want to play behind.
When the betting time has closed, the dealer deals two cards face up to each playing position. The dealer takes two cards; the second is face down for obvious reasons.
The bots signal to the dealer their playing decision based on basic strategy. The dealer flies through each hand, adding cards, splitting, and doubling as requested.
The dealer plays their hand, and the result is compared with each Bot playing position.
Those hands that beat the dealer receive a payout of 1:1 or 3:2 for a Blackjack. Hands that are the same as the dealer are pushed and the bet is returned to the player. Losing hands muck, with the bet retained by the house.
Two game settings can have an impact on the way you play and on your bankroll. They are:
If you set both of these to On, the above actions will be taken automatically whenever either of those actions are taken.
You can choose to switch them off. If you do, you’ll only bet behind the main hand and won’t participate in Doubles or Splits. When the hand is doubled, you’ll only receive one card, and no extra bet will be taken.
It’s a good idea to set these off if you have a low bankroll; otherwise, keep them on, as it’s a standard way to improve your hand and bet when the odds are in your favour.
Remember, the Bots follow basic strategy, so the correct playing decision is always made!
I mentioned that Basic Strategy is used to play each of the hands. So, the only strategy you’re responsible for is deciding how many hands to play and which ones.
Fortunately, Pragmatic has carried over a useful feature from their regular Blackjack tables: the Player Wins icon. You can see which seat position currently has the most concurrent wins, i.e., their win streak. Superstitious players like to follow winners, so this indicator helps to identify the “Hot” seat positions on the table.
Also, next to each seat position is a number that shows how many players are playing behind that seat – another indicator of what other players think.
You can use the above to help you decide which seats to Bet behind, or you can ignore the information and just go with your gut—which is what I tend to do.
You can follow Basic Strategy, as Pragmatic has provided a printed drop-down menu in the playing menu—but it’s a bit small to read properly, and quite honestly, the game goes too fast for you to follow what’s going on. I have created a page where I go into detail about Basic Strategy, which will give you a better idea of what is happening.
So, for the main part, you don’t have to worry about decision-making as that is all done for you.
There have been Blackjack games created where Basic Strategy is the game’s central theme, and you’re forced to follow the game as it unfolds, with no interaction at all. In this aspect, Bet Behind Blackjack is no different. But it is different because seven seat positions are in play, and you can choose which hands to Bet behind.
What took me by surprise was the speed of the game. It’s undoubtedly the quickest game of Blackjack I’ve ever played, and that’s because the Bots make instant decisions, so the dealer can perform the actions immediately after they get to the next seat position.
There are no Side Bets, which I find a bit odd. They could easily be incorporated and generate more fun in the game if not more revenue for the casino!
If I were looking to Bet behind, I think I’d probably pick this game rather than using the facility on a seven-seat table and rely on a real player following a basic strategy. You get more dependable results with Bet Behind Pro.
As for going head to head with One Blackjack, where an unlimited number of players play one hand, I’d probably stick with One Blackjack because you’re making the playing decisions.
Bet Behind Pro isn’t better than regular Blackjack, as you’re not making any playing decisions. But it is better if you can’t get a seat at a seven-seat table and want to play Bet Behind.
Well, Bet Behind Pro Blackjack wasn’t what I expected. I tend to shy away from games where you’re not actively involved in the decision-making of a hand. But in Blackjack, I mostly follow Basic strategy, so having the playing decision made by Bots to perfect basic strategy didn’t bother me as I thought it would.
The pace of the game shocked me. It is probably the fastest game of Seven-seat Blackjack you’ll ever play. There is no waiting around for players to make decisions and slow everything down – the decisions are made instantly, and the dealer complies almost as quickly. It can be a bit too quick, so you won’t learn much if you’re a beginner because the game round flashes by in seconds. But if you’re a beginner, it’s an excellent way to cut your teeth on a game where you know the playing decisions are the best you can get.
It’s a great alternative to Betting behind on a regular table, and it’s certainly better than any RNG game you’re going to play, even Blackjack X, as everything is real.
I was sceptical, to begin with, but this is another cracking Blackjack game from Pragmatic Play.
Bet Behind Pro Blackjack is a live dealer game of seven-seat blackjack in which a Bot plays each hand according to perfect basic blackjack strategy. Players bet behind a seat or multiple seats in a lightning-fast game with no RNG in sight.
Play as many hands as you can afford to play. My maximum is three. I start with one, then scale up if I’m doing well. The maximum you can play is all seven.
