Since its launch in the latter part of 2020, players have been discussing the comparative merits of Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Crazy Time.
So much so, that the question of which one is better, Adventures Beyond Wonderland or Crazy Time? has become a regular topic in the online casino forums.
The result isn’t clear, as there are strong arguments in favour and against each of these live dealer entertainment games.
So in this article, I’m going to present the facts, compare Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Crazy Time, feature by feature, RTP by RTP, and payout by payout to see if we get a clear winner.

The games sit in a relatively new live dealer category, Entertainment games. These are a new breed of games that aim to provide entertainment while you’re gambling on outcomes. They are played live, meaning the game is played in real-time with a real person managing the game. It’s about as far from traditional casino table games as you can get.
Both of the games use a mix of physical equipment, animation, and random number generators, to provide an immersive and visually appealing spectacle.
Each game uses a 54 segment wheel of fortune as its main mechanic. In Adventures Beyond Wonderland it is a modified Spin A Win Wheel, and in Crazy Time it’s a Dream Catcher Wheel.
In both games, you can bet on number segments and also bonus segments.
The bonus rounds in each game are made up of physical and RNG elements.
The games are managed by a Presenter, whose job is to commentate on the game, spin the wheel and take part in the bonus rounds.
The games are each played in a similar way:
Adventures Beyond Wonderland has forty-six numbered segments on the wheel, while Crazy Time only has forty-five.
There are four paid for bonus rounds in Crazy Time, while there are three in Adventures Beyond Wonderland. An additional one, Mystery Spins, is free to enter when you’ve made a number segment bet.
The RTP for Crazy Time ranges between 94.41% to 96.08%, while Adventures Beyond Wonderland has an RTP range of 96.58% to 96.82%.
Adventures Beyond Wonderland uses two Wheels during the game. The second wheel is behind the first and is revealed for the Wonder Spins Bonus rounds.
It’s a bit difficult to compare the payouts, i.e. how much you’ll win as that depends on a number of factors during game-play. I can say the payouts odds are very much in line with each other.
From my experience of playing you get a similar return between the Bonus Rounds, however, I’d say that Crazy Time is far more volatile than Adventures Beyond Wonderland – you get much bigger extremes between good wins and bad wins. Adventures Beyond Wonderland seems to be fairly consistent between the bonus rounds.
Here is the data you can use to compare Crazy Time and Adventures Beyond Wonderland
Adventures Beyond Wonderland | Crazy Time | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bet Type | No of Segments | Payout | RTP | Bet Type | No of Segments | Payout | RTP |

2 | 15 | 2:1 | 96.69% | 2 | 13 | 2:1 | 95.95% |
5 | 5 | 5:1 | 96.58% | 5 | 7 | 5:1 | 95.78% |
10 | 4 | 10:1 | 96.70% | 10 | 4 | 10:1 | 95.73% |
2 WonderSspins | 3 | up to €500,000 | 96.66% | Pachinko | 2 | up to €500,000 | 94.33% |
5 WonderSpins | 1 | up to €500,000 | 96.67% | Cash Hunt | 2 | up to €500,000 | 95.27% |
Magic Dice Mini Game | 2 | up to €500,000 | 96.58% | Coin Flip | 4 | up to €500,000 | 95.70% |
Mystery Spins | 2 | up to €500,000 | n/a | Crazy Time | 1 | up to €500,000 | 94.41% |
You can draw the following conclusions from the data:
While both games are similar in the playing experience they deliver they are different. In my opinion, Crazy time is more volatile, so you’re going to get some small wins and then a big win – but that can take a long time to happen. With Adventures beyond Wonderland you’ll get a more consistent game-play experience, BUT, big wins are possible, but they are very very rare. If I wanted a good gamble and didn’t mind if I lost I’d play Crazy Time. If I wanted a long play session to turn over my bankroll I’d play Adventures Beyond Wonderland.
That’s is a difficult one – both games cap wins at £500,000, so it’s possible to win that sum on both. I get the feeling that Crazy Time will give me a better profit, but at the risk of losing everything quite quickly. Adventures beyond Wonderland is more consistent with its payouts.
I would say this has to be Adventures Beyond Wonderland. Crazy Time is more volatile.
If you look at the Playtech and Evolution lobbies and note the number of players playing, then Crazy tIme wins hands down. That is partly because Evolution has more market penetration than Playtech Live Casino. You’ll find Crazy Time at more online casinos.
Playtech made Adventures beyond Wonderland, while Evolution made Crazy Time. The idea for this type of entertainment game came from Evolution when it produced Monopoly Live.
That is the question – if we knew that we’d all be rich. Seriously though, you can use some playing strategies on both games to give yourself the best chance of wins, while minimising your losses. Check out my Crazy Time Strategy and Adventures Beyond Wonderland Strategy for more information.
I’d recommend playing Crazy Time. It can be the most frustrating game to play. You can lose your shirt if you’re not careful but at the same time, one good win and you’ll be laughing. I like the Top Slot feature, which makes playing the numbers a better bet because of the multipliers that are possible.
If you want to play both of the games at the same online live casino, then you should head for Playojo as they have both. If you want just Crazy Time, then I’d recommend Leo Vegas and Adventures Beyond Wonderland I’d suggest BetVictor.
