Jet Set Racing Roulette is the latest innovation from Playtech for live dealer roulette with multipliers.
It’s a game of standard European Roulette that uses Two Roulette Wheels and Virtual Sports events to create multipliers that apply to all inside bets on each wheel.
Your job is to place your initial bets on a standard betting grid and then pick from a list of contestants who will come first and second in a Virtual Race for each wheel. If you guess one or more correctly, you’ll generate multipliers for each wheel, which applies to all inside bets.
At first glance, the game looks as confusing as hell, and with a minimum game round time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds, it’s not the quickest game of Roulette you’ll ever play.
But, the two wheels give you two chances to win, and the multipliers can stack up to deliver a maximum payout of 2499x for a straight-up number win.
In this review, I’ll explain how to play Jet Set Roulette, discuss some playing strategies – particularly for picking the winners in the Virtual Sports events and give my verdict on this new gameshow/live betting experience by Playtech.
Before I explain how to play Jet Set Racing Roulette, let’s look at the components that make up the game.
Getting your head around these will help you learn how to play more quickly and get more enjoyment out of the game.
The creation of the multipliers needs some explanation as it’s a vital component of the game.
There is a Virtual Race to create multipliers for each of the wheels.
At the start of the game round, one of four race types can be selected:
The same race type gets used for both of the roulette wheels.
Your job is to select from the participants who will come first and second in each race.
To help you choose, each participant has a star rating for form and a multiplier value. Note: the favourites tend to have lower values.
There are three phases to the game.
To re-emphasise, the multipliers apply to ALL inside bets. Depending on the bet type, the amount you receive could be a proportion of the multiplier if the Bet is not a Stratight-Up bet.
Betting time runs for 18 seconds, so you don’t have much time to place your bets.
You place bets on a central betting grid, and only when Betting Time has closed are the bets divided into two and placed on two betting grids. An Orange grid for the Orange wheel and a Teal Grid for the Teal coloured Roulette Wheel.
In this example, I have placed a Tier section Bet and a few straight-up bets.
The race type chosen was Motorbikes. Each wheel has a different race, and you get 18 seconds of betting time to select your rider who will come first and second.
In the first race, I chose rider two (44.4x) and rider four (31.4x), which gave me a combo multiplier of 77.7x
In the second race, I chose riders one (53.8x) and four (33.9x), giving me a combo multiplier of 127.1x and a Jet Set Multiplier of 268.2x.
The race for the Orange Wheels occurs first, with the Teal Wheel race starting about 30 seconds later.
The first race resulted in me correctly predicting the 1st and 2nd Places, so I ended up with a Combo multiplier of 77.7x going forward to the Orange Roulette wheel spin.
My predictions failed to place in the second race, so I ended up with a default multiplier of 23x going into the Teal Roulette spin.
Once the races have finished, the multiplier values get locked in for each wheel spin.
The dealer spins the Orange wheel first, followed by the Teal Wheel a few seconds later, enabling you to watch the results of both spins as they come in.
The Orange wheel spin landed on number nine, for which I got a payment of 77.7x.
The teal wheel result was number five, and I got a payment of $6.
My total outlay for the Bet was $13, and I won $44.85.
The Odds and Payouts for Jet Set Racing Roullete differ from the payouts you’d generally expect from a game of European Roulette because of the multipliers used in the game.
The multipliers need funding. The phrase “Robbing Peter to pay Paul” sums it up nicely. A small amount of each payout is taken from the inside bet payouts to fund the multipliers.
Clever maths and an RNG engine ensure the game delivers its overall RTP of 97.29%.
The game manages the value of the multipliers and the winners of the RNG races.
Only Inside Bets benefit from the multipliers. The payouts for Outside Bets remain unchanged.
Straight-Up bets pay 23:1 instead of 35:1. Splits pay 11:1 instead of 17:1, Street 7:1 instead of 11:1, Corners 5:1 instead of 8:1, and Line pay 3:1 instead of 5:1.
Of course, the multipliers make a difference, with the maximum possible payout being 2499:1, prorated for the remaining bets.
The table compares the payouts with standard European Roulette and Playtechs other Multiplier roulette game, Mega Fire Blaze Roulette.
Bet Type | Jet Set Racing Roulette Payout | Standard Payout | Mega Fire Blaze Payout |
---|---|---|---|
Straight-Up | 23:1 (2499:1) | 36:1 | 29:1 (9999:1) |
Split-Bet | 11:1 (1249:1) | 17:1 | 14:1 (4999:1) |
Street Bet | 7:1 (832.33:1) | 11:1 | 9:1 (3332:1) |
Corner bet | 5:1 (624:1) | 8:1 | 6.5:1 (2499:1) |
Line Bet | 3:1 (415.66:1) | 5:1 | 4:1 (1665:1) |
Column | 2:1 | 2:1 | 2:1 |
Red/Black | 1:1 | 1:1 | 1:1 |
Odd/Even | 1:1 | 1:1 | 1:1 |
1-18/19-36 | 1:1 | 1:1 | 1:1 |
There are multiple ways to place bets. Playtech has provided a range of in-game tools to make it easy to place bets.
However, let’s start with briefly describing the types of bets you can place when playing Roulette.
These refer to bets placed on individuals and ranges of individual numbers. They are called Inside Bets – because the numbers are inside the table layout. Remember, these bets benefit from the Multipliers.
These bets are lower payout bets that are even money bets. Place a chip for Odd/Even, Large/Small, and Red/Black.
Column bets cover a third of the table and pay 2:1, while the 1st/2nd/3rd 12 covers a third of the wheel. These pay 2:1.
The section bets are bets for sections of the wheel. They are often called the French Bets, Tiers, Orpheins, Voisins and Zero. These end up being Straight-Up and Split Bets.
Use the race track to place these and Neighbour Bets, where you select a number and the number of “neighbours to the number you want to cover. These are generally straight-up bets.
The easiest way is straight onto the betting grid, placing chips on the numbers you want to cover.
The second way is to use the Race Track, a tool that helps place the section and neighbour bets.
Use the Statistics Charts – You can click on most numbers on the statistics charts to place a bet on the betting grid.
Using the Bet Creator – this offline tool allows you to create and save a betting pattern to your favourites. You can recall this Bet anytime you like.
Using the Lucky Dip function. If you’ve run out of ideas or want extra fun, the lucky Dip function will place 5, 7, or 8 random bets on the grid.
This isn’t just a standard roulette game, as the game has two main parts.
The first part is the Virtual Races, where you have to pick the 1st and Second place winners to build the multipliers for the game.
So let’s start looking at these first.
The Virtual Races, the racers and Riders, Odds, and form information is all computer generated and uses an RNG engine to determine the result.
We know that the RNG engine brings the game in on its long-term RTP, so you would think that knowing the game’s history would help determine the race results!
Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. If it were, the game would be open to all types of abuse.
So this strategy is based on my experience playing hundreds of game rounds. What I can say is there is no set pattern to help you. But there are one or two bits of information that are worth knowing.
Summary – Give the most thought to the second-place rider, as this wins if it comes First or Second.
The more I play multiplier roulette, the better I refine my betting strategies. Moreover, all Inside bets qualify for multipliers, making the beating strategy easier.
So these are my golden strategy tips.
The results statistics are available for both the Orange and Teal Wheels, but there is no retained information about the results of the Virtual Races.
The last 1000 results get used to compile the stats. There is a helpful slider where you can show fewer results if you’re more interested in seeing recent results and trends.
There are three results and statistics trackers.
You can place bets using the statistics charts by clicking on any number.
The stats are available for both wheels.
Jet Set Racing Roulette is a low-volatile game, meaning you’ll get regular wins if you bet sensibly. The multipliers will appear, but you must be lucky during the Virtual Races to get these.
Don’t worry too much about not getting them. Just make sure you stick to these tips.
Jet Set Racing Roulette differs from other Multiplier Roulette games in several ways.
Alternative multiplier Roulette games include:
You’ll be able to play at all casinos that have Playtech Live Dealer games.
My current favourite is BetVictor, which has an extensive range of live games from Playtech and other suppliers. They are an excellent one-stop shop if you enjoy live casinos.
I couldn’t understand Jet Set Racing Roulette when I first saw it at the ICE Conference in February 2023. Then when Edo Haitin, CEO of Playtech Live, explained the game to me, I kept thinking, “who the hell would play this?”.
Edo was so excited about the format and how good the game was that I promised to have a good look at it and play it lots.
Now I’m here revealing what I think.
First, I’m not an out-and-out Roulette player, so I have no affinity with the game.
I want a live game to challenge me, let me make some decisions, and ultimately provide a level of entertainment beyond just winning.
Well, Jet Set Racing Roulette does all of that!
Playtech has produced a truly unique game of live dealer multiplier roulette. The use of virtual sports to provide engagement and generate multipliers is inspired.
Splitting the game into two, with two wheels, doubling your chances of winning is also unique.
Put it all together, and you get a very long game of live Roulette that engages you from start to finish.
You have to play the game a lot to pick up the signals from the game. Information about the multipliers going into the spins should be made more prominent.
If you like quick games of Roulette, forget playing this, but if you want to try something different, it’s worth 30 minutes of your time.
Jet Set Racing Roulette is a new generation of live dealer multiplier roulette games where players select the winners from two Virtual Sports races to create the multipliers. Aside from bets split across two wheels, all Inside bets qualify for multipliers up to a maximum of 2499x.
Yes, It’s easy to play once you understand the phases of the game and the choices you need to make.
RNG is used in Virtual Sports Races to provide the results and determine the multipliers.
I’m not sure there is a winning strategy, but you need an approach for selecting the Winners of the Virtual Races and the bets you make in the main Roulette game.
The RTP is 97.29%.
The highest payout is 2499x on a Straight-up number. You must correctly choose the first and second-place riders for each virtual race to achieve this. The result gives a Jet Set Multiplier of 2499x. The highest £$€ figure is £$€500,000.
I recommend you play at BetVictor.
