Evolution Speed Auto Roulette, not to be confused with Evolution Speed Roulette and Playtech Speed Roulette, which are pure live dealer games, is a successful amalgamation of an actual roulette wheel and the sheer pace of automated Roulette.
It’s still automated Roulette but doesn’t rely on a random number generator. Instead, an actual roulette wheel is used. It’s just that the ball is shot out using compressed air, and sensors within the wheel detect where the ball landed, which negates the need for a human dealer.
The game was released in 2017, so it isn’t among the innovative modern roulette games by Evolution, but it’s still relevant today and deserves consideration.
This is a perfect no-frills fast roulette experience that hasn’t needed an upgrade since its release.
It won’t win any awards today, but it fits the needs of a specific type of player perfectly. This game is just brilliant in its simplicity and perfect execution, which made Evolution a top live casino game provider in the first place.
If you came to this page looking for “Speed Roulette”, I will also briefly mention the other roulette versions that have Speed in their name and are about speeding the game up. There are four, and you’ll find the comparison table halfway down this page.
Instead of having a live dealer, Evolution Speed Auto Roulette uses a roulette wheel that uses compressed air to shoot the ball out. The wheel has sensors that detect where the ball lands. This is the best of both worlds – you get the true randomness of an actual roulette wheel, and the game’s pace is significantly increased.
Overall I liked the presentation of the game and the Speed of game rounds, though I was caught out by the rapid betting time of 15 seconds several times.
If you’re playing this version and want to play every spin, you’d better pay attention.
Another similar game is Evolution Slingshot Auto Roulette, named for the Slingshot 2 wheel by Cammegh that it uses. It is almost the same game as this one, with identical spin and betting times.
Since most Evolution software casinos have Speed Auto Roulette, you’ll find the game easily.
However, what sets one casino apart is the rest of its portfolio, the presence of dedicated tables, various promotions and perks, and the Speed and ease of withdrawals.
Therefore, not all Evolution casinos are created equal, and your Speed Auto Roulette experience will vary from one place to another.
You will probably also want to try out Slingshot Auto Roulette and perhaps Speed Roulette, which has a human dealer. Only then can you decide your favourite game of the three Evolution “speed” roulettes.
Here are some of my favourite Evolution casinos where I like to play:
The wheel is supplied by Cammegh, who provides all Evolution Gaming Auto Roulette Wheels.
It’s one of their Slingshot range of wheels that uses their technology to change the rotor to a new random speed when “No More Bets” is called.
A puff of air ejects the ball from the last pocket. It is then hit by another air jet in the ball track, which fires the ball around the wheel.
Interestingly Speed Roulette has a faster game round of 25 seconds.
This is the table’s standard playing view.
What I particularly like about this view is that you can configure it to auto-show the wheel in closeup when the ball is spinning.
If you don’t want to do that, the closeup can be activated by clicking on the wheel with your mouse.
Betting is made easy through the betting grid and the Racetrack. The number of neighbour bets can be configured, and the default is two.
Results of the last 500 spins are available in statistics, which you can also use to place your bets.
Another cool feature is the Auto Betting facility. You can repeat your last bet 100 times with the funds in your account. Alternatively, you can specify a loss limit to end the auto sequence.
The mixed-mode playing interface is intended for players with poor streaming connections. Most of the interface is computer-generated rather than a live stream, with the live wheel inset into the playing interface.
The playing interface is functional and very easy to use. I prefer this layout if I’m playing for a long session.
The other added benefit is you get to see the chat history. If you’re playing with others or want to engage with live support, you can see everything that is said on one screen.
The other interface doesn’t offer that.
As you can see in the images above, the full range of inside, outside and called bets are available.
The betting interface sets Speed Auto Roulette apart from its present or future competitors in the speed niche, as it allows for fast and accurate betting, whatever your strategy is.
With some experience with this console, you’ll be playing Roulette faster than ever!
The two other Evolution speed roulettes are equally good in this regard, and the Playtech game is a bit inferior, in my opinion.
Four different-speed roulettes with actual roulette wheels will be the perfect choice if you’re coming from an RNG roulette background or want to speed up the live dealer roulette spin times, which usually clock in at just above 40 seconds.
Two of these games use an automated slingshot type of wheel that shoots the ball out with compressed air, and two are real live dealer games that try to speed the game up as much as possible.
Interestingly, Speed Roulette by Evolution is the fastest live dealer game. There is no dedicated betting time, as betting only happens while the wheel is spinning.
Game | Developer | Seconds per spin | Betting time | Human dealer? |
Speed Auto Roulette | Evolution | 30 – 38 | 15 | No |
Slingshot Auto Roulette | Evolution | 35 – 37 | 17 | No |
Speed Roulette | Evolution | 25 – 28 | Embedded | Yes |
Speed Roulette | Playtech | 35 | 10 | Yes |
Do I believe that Speed Auto Roulette still has a place in live casinos today? Yes, most certainly.
Of the four “speed” roulette options available, this one is at least as good as Slingshot Auto Roulette. Players will choose between the two based on which wheel they prefer.
The target audience for this type of game is RNG roulette players, who should be encouraged to step up and play Roulette on an actual wheel if they don’t want a human dealer.
This type of game will also be suitable for any player who doesn’t want to watch the roulette ritual during every spin and wants the result as soon as possible.
Players playing live dealer roulette for a while might be frustrated by long spin times and the whole ritual during a spin. On the other hand, RNG roulette players who are used to fast spins stay away from live dealer roulette because they perceive it as slow. Speed roulette caters to both player groups.
The award goes to Speed Roulette by Evolution and its 25-second time between two spins.
This is a live dealer game, not an automated roulette, but it reaches these incredible spin times by not having a dedicated betting time. It is instead allowing betting when the wheel is already spinning.
