Playtech Bet On Poker is one of a new breed of online live dealer games, where you’re making bets on outcomes of cards being dealt, rather than trying to beat the dealer or win a specific hand.
Multiple bets can be made during three betting rounds, with Single, Double and triple bet combinations possible.
The actual game almost plays second fiddle to bet making. In fact, I’d go as far as saying there is no need to even play the game like Poker, just make bets on the things you think are likely to happen during the game rounds.
It certainly helps to understand Poker hand rankings, and maybe a bit about how poker is played. But even then Playtech Bet on Poker is not played like regular poker where you are trying to beat other players. And not even like Casino Hold’em where you are trying to beat the dealer.

Before we start, I think it’s helpful to explain the different bets you can place on the game. At first sight, they look quite intimidating, but they’re not.
The betting options has three panels, each displaying different bet options.
Bets can be placed on individual options, or if you’re betting before any cards have been dealt, up to three options. Note: for a combination bet to come in, ALL parts of it must win. Combination bets like this attract more favourable odds, than three single bets.

Note: Odds are re-calculated before each new betting time window opens. Betting options that cannot be won or have won will be blanked out so no further bets can be made.
There are two ways to place a bet, each start with the Bet Types panel.
Quickbet is the other option you can use to place a bet. This requires a little set-up, but once done will allow bets to be made quickly and easily.
Quickbet assigns a default value to all the bets you place, which can be made directly in the Options box, as a one-step process.
A freshly shuffled deck of 52 playing cards is used for each new game.
The game starts with an initial betting time window, where you can place a bet or combination of bets before any cards have been dealt on the table.
It’s not necessary to place a bet now, some would argue that you shouldn’t place a bet before you’ve seen the first set of cards dealt.
The betting window is open for 25 seconds.
Tip: The odds at this point reflect that cards haven’t been dealt. It’s with noting that even though there are 6 hands, you’re only being offered odds of 5.79, rather than 6.00!
The dealer now deals two cards, face-up, to each of the 6 hand positions on the tables.
Betting time opens again for about 25 seconds and you can place more bets.
Any bets you make are added to the bet slip at the odds being displayed. Previous bets are locked in at the odds you took when the initial bet was placed.
Tip: You have a lot more information now, so can start placing more specific bets or combination bets.
The three flop cards are now across the middle of the table, these become the community cards that all six playing positions can use to make up the best 5 card poker hand.
Tip: It’s probably time to start looking at the Combination and Suits & Colours Bets. Only two more cards will be dealt, so it’s easier to see potential winning hands.
The remaining two community cards, the Turn and River are dealt onto the table.
The game is now over, and all winning bets are paid out.

The display of the winning hands is not obvious in this game, so there are a few things that are helpful to understand about the results. They may seem obvious, but they are worth highlighting to avoid confusion, as I got caught out several times.
There are several ways to bet on Playtech Bet on Poker.
How you choose to play depends on your risk appetite, your knowledge of poker hand probabilities and of course whether you just want to have fun or try and turn a profit.
Having a good understanding of playing poker will undoubtedly help with a lot of the bets you can make, equally some bets require no knowledge of Poker, just an appreciation of what makes up a deck of 52 Playing cards.
My advice is to place a combination bet, i.e. what you think the value of the winning hand will be. Alternatively, bet on Colours or Suits. I would not bet on any of the hand positions, as they are empty and it will be a complete lottery!
You have a bit more information now, so betting on a specific hand is an option.
Again be careful, as in normal poker, bluffing and the strength of the hand is sometimes enough to win. However, those rules don’t apply when playing Bet on Poker.
It’s worth a bet if there are some suited connectors or maybe a good pair or Ace with a higher kicker. The big slick or even Bullets may not be good enough!
Otherwise, make a combination bet as you’ll have more information and get better odds before the flop cards appear.
The best hand may now be on the table, so consider the odds of what would take to beat it. If you’re comfortable with taking a bit of a risk, place a good bet on the best hand.
It may be a good time to do a combination bet and go for a double – Hand number and hand value.

As games go, the RTP is significantly lower than Ultimate Texas Hold’em at 99.47% and Casino Hold’em at 97.84%.
