There is nothing more thrilling in gambling than playing for high stakes, and roulette is the best game for it, both for sheer excitement and for the potential reward in terms of winnings.
As a high roller, you want to play at a trusted casino that will take care of you, your money, and pay your winnings as quickly as possible. You’ll also want the best game of roulette with the highest stakes.
It’s sometimes difficult to find an online casino with high betting limits and roulette tables with high limits, so this is where this article comes in.
I searched for high stakes tables among the available live roulette providers and found online casinos that will accept your large bets.
If you’re in a hurry to place some big bets, simply visit one of the casinos above.
High rollers in the UK are more likely to play at online casinos that also have a brick-and-mortar presence in the UK. The reason is simply one of trust and familiarity. A physical casino is something tangible that you can touch and feel. Grosvenor Casino is one well-known established brand with over 50 casino locations in the UK.
The Grosvenor online casino runs on software by Evolution Gaming, Authentic Gaming, and NetEnt, which is perfect for high rollers, as you’ll have access to all the best tables we mention in this article.
The single best roulette table for high rollers is Auto VIP Roulette by Evolution, though there are two more tables by the same provider that have identical bet limits of £1000 for straight-up bets and £20,000 for even-money bets.
The main benefit of Auto VIP Roulette is the speed of play. You’ll see 60-80 spins per hour in lightning-fast high roller action.
This is the preferred table of many high rollers and is my #1 suggestion for anyone who wants to bet big on roulette.
If you want to feel as if you’re in a real casino you should choose Casino Malta Roulette. The table action is streamed directly from a physical casino in Malta. You’ll see the casino and the slot machines in the background. It only takes a few moments before you feel as if you’re actually there.
To play at Salon Prive roulette, you’ll need a balance of at least £10,000 to sit down. You’ll be playing alone, privately, hence the name. The speed of play is slower than Auto VIP Roulette, however, the experience is tailored specifically for high roller VIP players.
The table limits can often be a misleading piece of information, as the paytables often just state how much you can bet in total on a single spin. For practical purposes, you’ll probably be more interested in how much you’re allowed to wager on a specific bet type, than what the table maximum is.
Note: the actual largest single bet you can make is £20,000 on an even money bet. If you’re betting on straight-up, the largest allowed bet is £1000. The other bet types are in between.
Roulette tables with the highest limits on even money bets are:
Play these three roulette tables with the highest bet limits at Rizk or BetVictor online casinos. They also have the highest limits on straight-up bets, of £1000, so choose these if you want to play roulette with the highest possible limits.
At Casino.com their dedicated table, for comparison, has a limit of £250,000. The largest straight-up bet is £500 while the largest outside bet is £10,000.
|Straight-Up||£1 – 1,000||35:1|
|Split||£1 – 2,000||17:1|
|Street||£1 – 3,000||11:1|
|Corner||£1 – 4,000||8:1|
|Line||£1 – 8,000||5:1|
|Column||£1 – 12,000||2:1|
|Dozen||£1 – 12,000||2:1|
|Red/Black||£1 – 20,000||1:1|
|Odd/Even||£1 – 20,000||1:1|
|1-18/19-36||£1 – 20,000||1:1|
If you’re a player that intends to place even-money bets (Red/Black, Odd/Even, High/Low), you’re better off playing on a French Roulette table.
If the ball lands in Zero on an even money bet, half the stake is returned to the player. Rather than it being a complete loss, you’re benefitting from a house edge of 1.35%, rather than 2.70%.
Evolution Gaming has French Roulette with the highest bet limits, as can be seen below.
These can’t match the limits of high roller roulette tables, but if these limits of £2000 per bet aren’t too low for you, you’d definitely benefit by playing French Roulette rather than European Roulette
|Straight-Up||£1 – 100||35:1|
|Split||£1 – 200||17:1|
|Street||£1 – 300||11:1|
|Corner||£1 – 400||8:1|
|Line||£1 – 800||5:1|
|Column||£1 – 1,200||2:1|
|Dozen||£1 – 1,200||2:1|
|Red/Black||£1 – 2,000||1:1|
|Odd/Even||£1 – 2,000||1:1|
|1-18/19-36||£1 – 2,000||1:1|

Live dealer casinos all run on software developed by a handful of companies – usually Evolution, and Playtech. Most casinos choose only one software provider, though some choose two or more.
Evolution tables don’t explicitly show a table limit, but their roulette tables have the highest factual bet limits, as I’ve explained earlier in the article.
A Playtech roulette table with the highest limit I found is available at Betfair, with a £200,000 table limit, £500 maximum straight-up bet, and £10,000 maximum outside bet.
If we’d only look at table limits, Grand Roulette from Authentic Gaming has a £50,000 table limit.
However, it has a maximum straight-up bet of £250 and the maximum outside bet is £5,000.
Casino Malta Roulette by Evolution Gaming dwarfs these limits as they’re £1000 and £20,000 respectively.
There are two main reasons why you might be searching for a high limit roulette table.
For Example: If a player bets £100 on his first bet, and he lost, Martingale will demand a £200 bet. He’d win £400 for a profit of £100. But if that bet is also lost, the betting strategy will demand £400, £800, £1600, £3200, £6400, and so on.
Losing streaks such as this one can happen. One thing a Martingale player wants to avoid at all costs is for his next bet to be above the table limit. This is because he loses the chance to win the money back. That’s why it makes perfect sense to play at a high stakes table – to be able to go through a long losing streak and still win.
Live roulette is simply a better game than automated RNG roulette regardless of the stakes you’re playing.
Roulette should be played with a live dealer and a real ball, as the game was intended to be played. Not, betting on the outcomes of a computer-generated result. Table limits are also much higher in live roulette too.
An obvious benefit of playing online is no one can see you place a bet, no one knows how much money you have, and therefore you don’t need to employ your own security to protect you.
Everything is safer online.
There’s no doubt you should be playing online roulette with a live dealer if you want to place big bets on this game. Live roulette is the best roulette you can play.
Popular bets with all types of players are bets that cover a small or larger portion of the wheel. These are section bets, also known as French Bets, which can be placed using the Racetrack.
Single number bets are the riskiest, but they bring the highest rewards.
One way to minimise the risk of straight-up bets is to place bets on either side of your number. This is known as neighbour betting. You can bet up to 9 neighbours, which is actually half of the wheel! This is also another way to place bets on sections of the wheel, which suits players that are tracking the sections of the wheel the ball is landing in most.
Making multiple bets, on the same spin is a way to reduce the risk of losing. It does reduce the overall payout but is a way to manage risk, whatever bankroll you’re playing with.
The simplest bet is the even money bet and it’s this bet where you can make the largest single bet on the table.
Another reminder – if you’re betting on even-money bets such as Red/Black, play Evolution Gaming French Roulette as you’ll benefit from a 1.35% house edge on your bets.
Playing high stakes roulette comes with some admin, which is unfortunately unavoidable when playing online.
Online casinos have to by law, verify who you are and in the case of larger deposits, get proof that you can afford to gamble and where your source of funds comes from.
All UKGC casinos are required to do this.
These checks are widely known as Know Your Customer (KYC) and Source of Wealth checks. These can be time-consuming but are absolutely necessary.
There is normally a trigger point when you have to provide this information – normally after you’ve deposited a cumulative £2000.
But, my strong advice is to get these checks done before you play. You don’t want to find yourself having problems after you’ve had a big win. Take the stress out and do it before.
How smooth the process is, is also a good indicator of how the Casino will treat you. So if you’re having problems that are unusual in nature –my advice is to find another casino to play at.
You’ll be asked for some of these document types:
You’ll need to provide copies of these documents for the source of wealth checks.
It goes without saying that UK players should be playing only at UKGC licensed casinos. This makes sure you’ll get paid when you win and you’re protected if you have a problem with gambling. In this article, I only recommend UKGC licensed casinos of the highest standard.
On any big win, the casino will check game logs to make sure there are no issues or any red flags raised. This can and does slow down the payment process.
If you intend to use any kind of progressive betting systems or other systems for playing roulette, make sure to check your online casino’s Terms and Conditions as they might have an issue with these. They will be mentioned specifically in T&C’s.
Be careful when playing with Bonuses, as bet limits are imposed and certain bet types are restricted. Again check them before you play. If you break the rules, you’ll probably forfeit your winnings.
The limits I mention in this article are the usual limits, but they can go up or down depending on the casino you’re playing at and your player status.
It is generally understood that limits aren’t increased lightly. You’ll have to be a big player who deposited and wagered a lot of money, to have your limits increased by the VIP team.
Visit either and you’ll have a personal concierge, special promotions, and many other perks, such as increased limits that only big players can get.
Last but not least, I would like to remind you that safe gambling practices still apply, regardless of your stakes and ability to afford your gambling.
Even if you want to play high roller roulette and place some big bets, always be aware of how much money you’re winning or losing.
Set a win/loss limit, and always have a plan before you sit at a roulette table. Enormous amounts of money can be spent on high roller roulette if you’re not careful.

High stakes roulette is a roulette table that accepts very large bets. This doesn’t mean small bets are not accepted – they are – it’s just that there’s a very high limit to the maximum bet.
High stakes roulette can have table limits up to £250,000. No limit roulette is very rare as the casino wants to have at least some control over the maximum bet. But it does exist and can be made available to VIP players.
Live roulette is in every way better than RNG roulette, and this is true in regards to table limits as well. Live online roulette tables have limits up to £250,000, with a maximum single bet up to £20,000.
Best high stakes online roulette site depends on the version of roulette you want to be playing. For more information read our full article to find the best sites for high-stakes roulette by Evolution, NetEnt, and Playtech.
The maximum bet you can place when playing roulette depends on the bet type. It goes up to £20,000 for outside bets, £1000 for straight-up bets, with other bet types falling in between. The maximum table limit, which is the sum of all bets made on a single spin, goes up to £250,000.
High rollers tend to place their bets on more certain outcomes, so they tend to cover portions of the wheel to increase the chance of winning.
