Fortune 6 Baccarat is a new variant of Live Baccarat from Pragmatic Play.
Based on the classic game of Baccarat, the Fortune 6 element is a range of unique side bets you can play in isolation or alongside the main Baccarat Hand.
The Fortune 6 Side Bets are different enough from the traditional side bets to warrant having a dedicated table, which says something about Pragmatic Play and their attention to the player experience.
In this review, I’ll cover the Fortune 6 Side bets in detail while briefly explaining how to play Baccarat. You can choose whether you play both or just the side bets in this cracking live dealer game from Pragmatic Play.

Let’s cover How to Play Baccarat first, just in case you’re new to Baccarat or need a refresher.
You play Baccarat with eight shuffled decks of 52 playing cards which the dealer deals from a dealing shoe.
There are two betting positions, Banker and Player.
Baccarat is a game where you have a 50% chance of winning, so to give the house its edge, a commission of 5% is taken from Banker wins. The reason it’s Banker is that the Banker hand always receives the cards first.
The objective is to bet on the playing position you think will win with a hand value nearest to nine, which is called a Natural.
Players get their stakes returned to them as a Push if a hand is tied.
Each playing position receives two cards. Depending on their total value, the dealer may add a third card to the hand. This third card has rules about its uses. I will explain in more detail here.
A hand wins if the total of the cards, when added up, is greater than the other hand.
Only a card’s last digit counts in Baccarat. Ten cards have a value of zero. Also, if several cards, when added together, total ten, the result is counted as zero.
A perfect hand is called a natural, where the cards add up to eight or nine. If this occurs, the game round ends immediately.
You’ll find more detailed information on playing in my how-to-play baccarat article.
Fortune 6 has three separate side bets, with two of them playable individually for the Banker or Player playing positions.
All the side bets are playable from the beginning of the dealing shoe until the thirtieth hand when the playing interface disables the Fortune 6 side-bet. After 40 hands, the final two side bets of Player/Banker 6 and the Player/Banker Fortune Pair get disabled.
All side bets are reactivated at the beginning of the next new dealing shoe.
The Fortune 6 Side Bet applies to the Banker and Player hands.
Quite simply, you win if a six is the first card dealt. The payouts increase if you get multiple sixes.
You can play the side bet for the first 30 hands of the dealing shoe. After that, they are disabled until the shoe is changed.
Card Dealt | Payout Odds |
---|---|
First Card is a “6” | 3:1 |
First 2 cards are “6’s” | 30:1 |
3 Cards are “6” | 120:1 |
This side bet is playable for both the Player and Banker’s hands.
You don’t need to place the main hand bet to play this side bet.
You win if the hand you’ve bet on wins with a total of 6. However, your stake is returned as a Push if the other hand wins with a natural.
The Player/Banker 6 side bet is active for the first 40 hands from the dealing shoe. After that, the side bet is disabled until a new shoe starts.
Payouts for a Player win is 14:1, while a Banker win pays 16:1.
Event | Payout Odds |
---|---|
Players wins with Total of 6 (Push if Banker has a Natural) | 14:1 |
Banker wins with a Total of 6 (Push if Player has a Natural) | 16:1 |
The Fortune Pair side bet is unusual because it’s not just numbered pairs that qualify for a payout.
The base payout is for a suited hand – not a pair. Think of it as a Flush. So two hearts is good enough for a win and will pay 1:1.
The next hand is any numbered pair, which pays 5:1, followed by a suited pair at 9:1.
You can place these bets on the Banker and Player positions individually or together.
You don’t need to place the main hand bet to play the side bet.
The side bet is active for the first 40 hands. After that, it’s disabled until the next shoe begins.
Event | Payout Odds |
---|---|
Suited (two cards of the same suit) | 1:1 |
Pair | 5:1 |
Suited Pair | 9:1 |
As Fortune 6 is a game of Baccarat, a series of roadmaps track the results of the current dealing shoe. These are useful if you’re interested in past results. Some players like the various derived roads to try and predict the result of the next hand.
The Bead Plate and Big Road roadmaps track the outcome of the side bets, but they are not that obvious.
Lets take a closer look at the two roadmaps and see how we can use them to track the Fortune 6 Side Bets.
The Big Road Map shows the result of each game for the current dealing shoe.
The results start in the top left of the grid. If the following result is for the same betting position, it goes below. If not, the result goes in the next column. The process repeats for the outcome of every game.
A Tie is shown below the last result unless it’s the first result of the shoe when it goes in the top-left position.
A dot depicts when there is a Fortune 6 Pairs side bet result. It’s a blue dot for a Player Fortune Pair win and a red Dot for a Banker Fortune Pair win.
The Bead Plate is also an exact representation of the results.
It shows the winning hand, the value of the hand, and the order in which the wins occurred.
The result value allows you to see which results won with a total of 6.
This road is good for seeing the Fortune Banker and Fortune Player Pair results and the hands where the Player or Fortune 6 bets win.
Unfortunatley there is no way to track the Fortune 6 side bet results, as this would require the roadmaps to show each card dealt, not just the totals.
The return to player for Pragmatic Fortune 6 Player hand is 98.76, while Banker has an RTP of 98.94%.
The best side bet is Player or Banker Fortune Pair, with a shared RTP of 97.83%.
The worse RTP is for the Tie Bet at 85.64%, although this does pay 8:1 when it happens.
The best payout is for the first three sixes of the Fortune 6 bet, which pays a massive 120:1, but the RTP for the whole side bet is 96.26%.
Bet Position | Payout | RTP |
---|---|---|
Player | 1:1 | 98.76% |
Banker | 0.95:1 | 98.94% |
Tie | 8:1 | 85.64% |
Player Fortune Pair | 2 Card Flush 1:1 Any Pair 5:1 Suited Pair 9:1 | 97.83% |
Banker Fortune Pair | 2 Card Flush 1:1 Any Pair 5:1 Suited Pair 9:1 | 97.83% |
Player 6 | 14:1 | 95.62% |
Banker 6 | 16:1 | 93.36% |
Fortune 6 | First 6 3:1 First 2×6’s 30:1 3 6’s 120:1 | 96.26% |
I’ve written a comprehensive guide to betting strategies on Baccarat, which I will not repeat here.
I will spend more time discussing the strategies for playing the Fortune 6 side-bets.
Generally, you should avoid playing side-bets as they rarely offer a better RTP than the main hand bets. That’s certainly the case with Fortune 6.
However, if you have the bankroll and don’t mind sessions where you’re likely to lose, the Fortune 6 Side bets can be fun to play.
The first thing to say is that you can play these bets without making the main hand bet.
You can get the best return by playing the Player and Banker Fortune Pair side bets. These have the best RTP. You get paid for a Pair and a two-card Flush.
I’m not a great player of Baccarat, I prefer games where you have to make lots of playing decisions, and you don’t get that in Baccarat.
However, Fortune 6 Baccarat is a refreshing change. It’s aimed at players that like side bets, although the more traditional player can ignore them and play the main hands.
You’ll find engaging dealers at the table and an environment that looks good and is a pleasure to play in.
The User interface has everything you could ask for, except a way for tracking the Fortune 6 Side bet results. Sadly this is lacking at the moment.
Pragmatic Fortune 6 Baccarat is a game of Baccarat with a selection of side bets that mostly have the number six in common. The Player and Banker Fortune Pairs’ side bets don’t target the number six.
The RTP for the Banker’s hand is 98.94%. The Player Hand RTP is 98.76%. The Fortune 6 side bet RTP is 96.26%, while the Pairs side bet returns 97.83%. The Player 6 side bet RTP is 95.62, while the Banker 6 side bet is 93.36%.
There is a documented strategy for playing Baccarat. There isn’t one specifically for the Fortune 6 side bets, but if you’re playing them, stick to the Fortune Pairs as that has the best RTPs.
There are five side bets in Fortune 6 Baccarat. The Fortune 6 side bet pays when a 6 card gets dealt to the hands. The more sixes there are, the greater the payout. The Fortune Pairs side bet pays for pairs in either the Banker’s or the player’s hands. These can be numbers or suits. The final Player or Banker 6 side bet relies on the result being a total of six.
Fortune 6 Baccarat is good to play if you like an alternative set of side bets from the normal ones you usually play on Baccarat.
You can play Pragmatic Fortune 6 Baccarat at Leo Vegas and Unibet live casinos.
