Live Marble Racing, who’d have thought it?
Well, the guys at Evolution have come up with a Marble Racing Game, where you get to bet on the outcome of a race between six coloured marbles as they bounce and roll down a specially designed track until they reach the bottom. You can bet on which coloured ball will be first, or for a bigger payout, predict which coloured balls will come first and second!
It’s a live game, so everything you see is physical. With random start positions, no race is the same, ensuring fairness and impartiality.
In this review, I’ll explain how to play Marble Race, examine betting strategies, and demonstrate a few game rounds in my Video Review.
There’s not much to Marble Race, so here’s a quick rundown of what to expect.
During the 12 seconds of betting time, you bet on the marble or marbles you think will win the race.
There are two options for betting, which you can switch between depending on the type of bet you want to make.
One option allows you to bet on one or more marbles, predicting which will win.
The second option is to predict the finishers of the race in First and Second place. To win this bet, you must have correctly predicted the two marbles in the correct finishing order to win the 27:1 payout.
Once betting time has passed, the presenter releases the marbles into the race track. The cameras follow the action as the six marbles roll and bounce their way down the sloping race track.
Throughout the race, the marbles encounter obstacles that either delay them or they manage to avoid. The marble that avoids the obstacles the most often wins!
The last part of the race funnels the balls as they arrive at the finish line so you can quickly see which one has won.
Players with winning bets receive payouts as the marbles return to the start line for the next race.
Marbles is a race between six marbles. The chances of you picking the winner are 6:1.
There is no way to influence the game, so in terms of betting strategies, you can only use the information on previous results.
Previous results are no indicator of what will happen in the future, as neither event is connected. However, the laws of probability and large numbers tell us that the results should equal out over time.
However, the game’s results statistics are too small to use confidently. You can bet on the colour that seems to be winning the most or on the one that appears to be losing the most because its luck will surely change!
My strategy can change. I stick to one coloured marble and bet on it, or I go with my gut and randomly pick one.
I pick one marble for each race because I want to manage my Bankroll, not lose too much when I lose, and gain the maximum when I win.
I don’t bet on the first and second to chase the bigger payout, as my chances of doing that are 3.33%. The 27:1 payout, while attractive, doesn’t compensate for the poor odds.
My final piece of advice is to never bet more on a race than you can win. I know it’s obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people forget this!
Autoplay is available if you want to make the same bet multiple times. I usually use this feature as it helps me manage my bankroll, but what worries me about this game is the speed of play, which is very quick. This means you’ll go through your bankroll quickly if you’re not winning.
I prefer not to use Autoplay and play every other race.
The past 100 race results are displayed in the statistics panel, located in the corner of the screen on the desktop or at the bottom on mobile.
You can also see a breakdown of wins for each marble colour expressed as a percentage, which is helpful if you like trends.
The game’s RTP is 95.83% for the first-place bet and 93.33% for the first-and-second-place combination bet.
The payouts are 4.75:1 for First place (the true odds are 6:1), so that’s how the house edge is created.
The First and Second place bet pays 27:1 (the true odds are 29:1).
There’s a lot of hype about Marble games and races, with a few suppliers adding Marbles to their games. The word excitement is banded about, too, but I wouldn’t describe watching a Marbles race as exciting.
It’s a clever concept, the design is cool, and the game rounds are quick.
If you enjoy a quick betting fix that’s easy to play, this may be a game for you.
It’s probably not a game I would play regularly, as I like to have some input during the game. I struggle to play games where I’m just betting and watching. That is more like sports than a casino game, which initially attracted me to live games.
I think Marbles will attract players, but it’s not a sticky game that people will come back to play. It lacks the hook of a big payout or something exciting happening.
Evolution has produced a few Race Games. Here’s a selection of what’s on offer.
It’s exactly as it says on the tin. This game is where six marbles are dropped into a race track maze. The winner is the first one to reach the bottom.
The minimum payout is 4.75:1 for correctly predicting first place. The maximum payout is 27:1 for correctly predicting First and Second Place.
The RTP is 95.83%. For the First and Second place bet, it’s 93.33%.
There is no strategy for winning or betting. You can try any favourite colour, number, or combo you like. I go with my gut feeling.
You can play at all Evolution Live Casinos. My current favourite is Playojo, which has all Evolution Games plus games from the other leading providers.
