ICONIC21 has three versions of live Baccarat. There’s the standard version, a No Commission version and Grand Bonus Baccarat.

In this review, I’ll cover all three, explain the differences and how they compare with other suppliers of Baccarat games.

I’ll briefly cover how you play Baccarat and whether any strategies will help you win more often.

Baccarat is a card game where two playing positions, the Banker and the Player, battle to see which will win with a hand value closest to Nine. Players bet on the Banker Winning, The Player Winning, or a Tie. Payouts usually are 1:1 for the Player and 0.95:1 for the Banker. A Tie can pay 8:1.

Cards numbered Ace to Nine keep their value, while 10s and picture cards have a value of Zero. Each playing position initially receives two cards. The value of the two cards is totalled together, with the last digit becoming the hand value. For example, you might have received a nine and a six, giving a total of fifteen; the hand’s value becomes five.

A third-card rule determines whether a hand will receive an extra card and uses the values of the Banker’s and Players’ hands to decide who gets an additional card.

The hand with the higher total wins. If the result is a Tie, all participants in the game will have their initial stake on the Player/Banker returned.

Sometimes, games offer additional side bets with enhanced payouts, the results of which are determined by the game’s main cards.

ICONIC21 Live Baccarat comes in three versions:

1. Standard Baccarat
2. No Commission Baccarat
3. Grand Bonus Baccarat

Each version is slightly different. The first two are the same as most baccarat games, and the third has a compulsory bonus bet that pays if you have a run of winning games.

Let’s look at each.

ICONIC21 Live Baccarat is played with eight decks of fifty-two playing cards, shuffled and played from a manual dealing shoe.

The shoe is changed when there is approximately one deck remaining.

The Player pays 1:1, the Banker Pays 0.95:1, and the Tie pays 8:1. Opposite betting is not allowed. Player/Banker bets are returned if there is a Tie.

Six optional side bets are available: Player/Banker Pair, Suited Pair, Either Pair, and Player/Banker Bonus.

The RTP is 98.76% for the Player, 98.94% for the Banker and 85.64% for a Tie.

ICONIC21 No Commission Baccarat is essentially the same as standard Baccarat, but no commission is taken on Banker wins. The Banker pays 1:1 instead of 0.95:1.

The other significant rule change is when the Banker wins with a Six. In this situation, the payout is 0.5:1.

Bets are still returned if the result ends in a Tie.

All the same optional side bets, Player/banker Bonus, Player/Banker Pair, Suited Pair and Either Pair are available.

Better Live has implemented No Commission Baccarat to use the standard Baccarat stream and adjusted the playing interface to take account of the different rules. The dealer doesn’t do anything different; only the payouts in the playing interface are adjusted.

ICONIC21 Grand Bonus Baccarat has a mandatory side bet, costing 20%, which pays a progressive multiplier jackpot for consecutive wins on Banker or Player. The more wins you get in a straight row, the higher the multiplier you receive.

The jackpot is specific to you and is seeded with 1.5x to 500x after each win. If you get a loss during a winning streak, the Jackpots reset, and you start again.

The Mega jackpot is paid after four consecutive wins and the Grand after five wins.

All other aspects of the game are the same as standard baccarat, including the paytable and commission payments.

It’s a coin toss between standard and No Commission Baccarat. Which version to play depends on your attitude to betting on Banker in the long term – it is the position with more favourable odds.

If you play Banker more and are not worried about the half payout for winning with a 6, then No Commission is the better option.

Standard Baccarat is the best option if you are a high roller who likes to play big bets.

Now, Grand Bonus Baccarat offers the compulsory Bonus side bet, which will cost you 20% every time you play. The Bonus only pays out on four successive wins, and the likelihood of you getting four consecutive wins is relatively tiny. But the lure of the 500x payout is very tempting. I recommend playing this version if you like side bets and have a large bankroll to ride the many losses. It’s a fun bet, but the odds lay with the house like all side bets.

Having played and reviewed many Baccarat games, I consider ICONIC21 Live Baccarat an excellent entry-level game. There’s nothing flashy about it. The game is played reasonably fast and has all the possible options. The Roadmaps are pretty plain – it would probably help beginners if they were labelled in the playing interface, as it’s difficult to distinguish one from the other unless you’re an experienced player.

The side bets are common across most games, although the Bonus bet is not seen as often, so it’s an excellent addition.

The Grand Bonus Baccarat studio is the more immersive of the two studios, as you don’t see other tables in the background, which can be a distraction.

The other studio is quite plain, sharing the space with different games, which is unusual for baccarat games.

Baccarat is a game of superstition in which strategies play a very important role. For this reason, Baccarat Roadmaps were developed to track the results from the shoe and try to predict what would happen next. Trends and runs are highlighted so players can gamble on a successful run of winning bets.

In truth, predicting the outcome of the next game is almost impossible. There are three options – Player, Banker and Tie. The good thing is you get your money back in the event of a Tie when you’ve played the Player or Banker bets.

So, in terms of strategy, you’re betting on Player or Banker.

My favoured strategy is to pick one playing position. I bet on that position until I lose, then I double my bet and switch to the opposite position. If I win, I reduce my bet back down.

With this strategy, I’m looking for runs of Player or Banker, so betting like this will catch one when it occurs.

The only danger is if they don’t occur, as the constant doubling of the bet after a few rounds can become very expensive. Four losses in a row gives a bet of 8 times your original bet!

If the strategy is not working, you must stop playing. Take a break and try again later.

If it’s working, stay with it until you lose, bank your winnings, and take a break.

ICONIC21 Live Baccarat is a very playable game from ICONIC21. The dealer places the cards face up, which quickens the pace of the game, and the camera angle is excellent, giving a good view of the almost rectangular table and the cards.

There’s nothing fancy going on here. It’s a straightforward game of Baccarat.

The Grand Bonus Baccarat is an option if you like chasing the big payouts, and it works well if runs of 4 or more results go your way.

The dealers are nice and chatty, too, and since the tables don’t get really busy, the chance of having a conversation with them is high.

If you want an immersive game that makes you feel important, there aren’t many better games out there.
