Busted or Bailed is not strictly a live dealer game. It has a live presenter providing live commentary, and because it’s listed in the Playtech Live Casino lobby, it falls within my remit to review.
Busted or Bailed is similar to Evolution Stock Market Live, which isn’t a live game but appears in the live casino lobby.
Like Stock Market Live, Busted or Bailed is a type of Crash Game. The game is based on a car chase, in which a police car chases a suspect vehicle down a US highway.
If you’re of a certain age, you’ll recognise the visuals as being based on the OJ Simpson chase between the Police and his white Bronco after the murder of OJ’s wife, Nicole and her friend, Ron Goldman.
The distance between the vehicles at the end of the chase determines the payout multipliers for each betting position. Your job is to bet on the position you think will have the best payout. A third betting option for the vehicles crashing provides the game’s biggest payout and sets the other two betting position payouts to zero.
In this review, I’ll explain how to play Busted or Bailed, demonstrate the game in Video format and discuss playing strategies.
The game starts with ten seconds of betting time.
There are three betting options.
It’s possible to bet on either the Busted or Bailed position and the Crash position. You’re not allowed to do opposite betting and bet on both Busted and Bailed.
Once betting time, each of the vehicles is allocated a multiplier value. In my experience, it’s always around 1x each.
The chase begins and runs for ten seconds.
You watch as the presenter describes the unfolding chase, and you can see the multipliers for each vehicle changing as the vehicles close and move away from each other.
If a vehicle reaches 2.0x, the other vehicle’s multiplier is set to zero, and the chase ends. The winning vehicle gets a multiplier boost up to a maximum of 5x.
If each vehicle has a multiplier value at the end of the chase, these are the payout values for the bet positions. Note: The Original bet is not returned with the payout.
If a crash occurs, the Bailed and Busted bets are lost, and players with a winning Crash Bet get a 10x payout.
That is the end of the game, and the next game round starts immediately.
The previous results for Busted or Bailed are shown within the playing interface directly below the viewing screen.
You get the last eight results listed with the payout for the position that got the highest multiplier.
Note: Both positions get a payout if they have a multiplier value, except when one position reaches 2.0x or there is a Crash.
The biggest question is, “How do you bet on Busted or Busted”?
The game delivers an RTP of 99%, so if you bet on position, Busted or Bailed, you’d expect to lose 1% of your bankroll over millions of game rounds.
The reality is we don’t play for that long, so when you bet, you’ll be playing when streaks are going on. You’ll win if you happen to bet on positions that consistently pay more than 1x. Get some consecutive wins, and you’ll be in profit.
Now, the trick is guessing correctly. If we could do that, we’d all be rich. We might get a run of correct guesses, but we’re equally likely to get a run of incorrect guesses.
I’m trying to say it’s all luck; there is no strategy.
But don’t ignore the Crash Bet. Start playing it if it hasn’t occurred for at least ten game rounds, as it will happen. The RTP for the Crash is 95%, so you’re not expected to win that often.
I can think of three games from live casino suppliers that fall into this “Crash” category.
Each game has something different about it, so doing a direct comparison is difficult.
Each game uses a live presenter to comment on the games – this is the Live element of the game.
They all use RNG.
Only Crash Live has a cashout option; the other two have a game round that ultimately determines the payouts for the players.
Crash Live has the top payout potential of 1000x, while Stock Market delivers a maximum of 2x and Busted or Bailed 10x with the Crash bet.
The Evolution and Playtech games do not require player participation, while Iconic21 relies on the player deciding to cash out before it’s too late!
The RTP for Stock Market and Busted or Bailed is 99%, while Crash Live delivers 96%.
It’s pretty much down to a personal choice of which one you prefer playing. There’s no right or wrong answer. If you enjoy playing all three, play them all.
These Crash games are starting to appear in Live casino lobbies, and I don’t understand why. Perhaps it’s because they are such great money spinners for the operators, and they don’t want to miss out on such a good thing. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with the gameplay element and excitement the game generates because, quite frankly, it doesn’t.
Who’s going to get excited about a 1.5x payout?
The game itself is fine if you like these sorts of games, and the Cash Bet gives a 10x payout if you correctly guess when it happens.
The multi-camera angles are a good addition, and the replay is a nice touch for some of the game rounds.
But, I’m astonished that the visuals used look similar to the tragic OJ Simpson case events. Whatever you think of what happened, two people died and creating something that’s loosely linked to that case seems clumsy at best and calculated at worst. A tweak to the Suspect’s Bailed vehicle is all is needed to break the association.
Playtech Busted or Bailed is an RNG Crash-type game with a live commentary from a game presenter. The game is a car chase, in which you must decide which of the two cars will end up with the bigger multiplier. It’s possible for both playing positions to receive a payout.
The maximum payout multiplier is 5x for the Busted or Bailed bets and 10x for the Crash bet.
The RTP is 99% for optimal play and 95% for the Crash bet.
There is no strategy. A Random Number Generator determines the outcome. There are situations when you can lose. When the car crashes, only the Crash bet is paid. Otherwise, the other positions can receive a payout unless one has 2x, in which case the other will have zero.
You can play at any Playtech Live Casino. My current favourite is Playojo, which has all the Playtech Live Games plus games from the other leading providers.
