In this review, I’ll take a closer look at the Light & Wonder Live Roulette games and recommend the best casinos where you can play.

First impressions count a lot, certainly for me, so I was taken aback when I saw the first range of Roulette games streamed from land-based casinos. Think dirty-looking tables and very slow game rounds.
I’ve been used to the slick and polished studio Live Roulette from Evolution and Playtech, where everything is neat, imagery is sharply focused, and the game rounds are quick.
Initially, I didn’t like the games compared to their studio counterparts.
But the more I played and tested them, the more I realised and enjoyed how authentic the games were. It’s a bit corny, but the original company name perfectly describes the products.
Streaming was a bit erratic in the early days, but it has improved to the point that HD streaming is now the norm.
Most good online live casinos have at least one or two tables streamed from land-based casinos.
Although the games Authentic originally developed are now marketed as Light & Wonder, the innovations underpinning the tables remain. Authentic was the first roulette provider to include every bet type possible for the player, and that functionality persists in the latest playing interfaces.
Light & Wonder offers studio and multiplier roulette versions, the most recent of which is XL Roulette Live, which resembles what Evolution and Playtech are doing in this niche.
The real roulette tables are all streamed from prestige land-based casinos worldwide.

I like the look of the table, it’s clean, and the surroundings exude class which is what I like.
This table has the added benefit of offering a localised solution for Danish players, who are generally restricted to where they can play online due to restrictions with licensing.
Authentic Blaze Roulette is Authentic Gamings first studio roulette table.
Initially, it was launched with an Auto Roulette wheel, but this has been changed to a standard manual single zero wheel.
A big TV screen behind the presenter displays closeups of the wheel and result information, while the “Blaze” technology lights up sections and numbers on the table when the results are known.
Authentic Viva Las Vegas Roulette has a Single Zero wheel. The table occupies a specially created area in the Arena studio designed to offer players a serene playing experience with gentle piano music playing in the background.
As the environment is relatively quiet, it’s easy to speak with the dealer as you can hear most of what is happening.
Authentic NightClub Roulette is presented from a purple-themed studio area. Play is accompanied by music in the background, while a large TV screen shows images of Las Vegas in the background.
Around the table are shelves containing bottles and glasses, giving the impression you’re in a nightclub bar.
A big bottle of champagne sits behind the wheel alongside the cocktail shakers and glasses.
As the name suggests, Authentic 24/7 Roulette is available to play all the time, no matter the day or hour of the day.
The studio has a more traditional feel than the other studio tables.
Soft music plays in the background while the dealer controls the game. A small TV screen shows results and an overhead view of the wheel.
The other studio tables can be seen over the dealer’s shoulder through a messed partition wall.
Authentic Grand Roulette is presented in a classically styled studio area, complete with a standard lamp!
You’ll find pictures on the wall and a TV screen in a picture frame to fit the rest of the room’s styling.
The screen displays past result numbers, closeups of the wheel and other information about the game round.
XL Roulette is Authentic Gaming’s first live dealer roulette game with optional multipliers.

7’s On Fire Live is a fusion between Authentics Live Dealer Roulette and the RNG slot 7’s On Fire. It’s a studio-based game played with an Auto Roulette wheel with a presenter commenting on all the action.

The base game is standard European Roulette with a single Zero. The differences between the games are the Betting time, the time it takes to complete each game round, and the stakes available on a particular wheel.
In terms of functionality, all of the games are the same.
However, lovers of American Roulette and the La Partage rule will be disappointed, as neither is available as a playing option.

It’s a multiplay table, allowing unlimited players to play each hand. There is a good range of Side Bets, and it should be a popular choice for players.
Multibet Baccarat is the second live dealer card game to be added.
It’s possible to play two different game versions on the same interface. The classic game takes a commission on Banker wins of 5%, while the No Commission option pays 50% on Banker wins of six.
All other aspects of the game are the same as regular baccarat.
Talking with the CEO over the years, it’s clear that delivering a smooth gaming experience is the top priority.
The playing interface has been built with Mobile first in mind.
Historically, one of the problems with playing on a mobile device is the ability to access all of the functionality on a small screen.
You often miss tapping and selecting bets and options you don’t want.
Authentic has got around this by making the betting view full screen, superimposed on the stream of the wheel and table.
When bets close, this automatically minimises down so you can watch the resultant spin.
All of the games use the same playing interface, so it’s worth spending a few minutes explaining the standard options you’ll come across.
Placing bets has been made so easy. Wherever you see a number in the interface, you can generally click on it and use it to place a bet.
Ways to bet include using a Racetrack to place French & Neighbour bets.
You can select up to 9 neighbours who will cover half the wheel with bets. This is useful if the ball seems to favour one side of the wheel.
Then there are the more detailed Big Bets with combinations to help you place Complete or Half complete bets for individual numbers.
Comprehensive statistics are available for up to 250 spins, which can be displayed in multiple ways. One of my favourites is viewing how often a number has been hit on the betting grid.
The Auto bet feature allows you to repeat your last bet, numbers, and amount for a predetermined number of spins.
These range from 5 to 50 and will continue until you’ve exhausted the spins or your bank balance – whichever comes first!
The High Roller feature allows you to set auto bets for the Hot, Cold & Latest Numbers. There’s also a facility to select additional neighbours for each of these.
You can save up to 7 different bet layouts and recall them whenever you like. This is particularly useful if you have favourite patterns you want to bet the system-supplied options don’t cover.
I’ve found that the best Light & Wonder Live Casinos are the tier 1 operators.
These are the big online casino sites, and they tend to offer all the games and table options.
You’ll get better stakes, and both minimum and maximum levels are better.

Authentic rebranded in 2024 to Light & Wonder Live, but here, in chronological order, are the significant changes since 2018.
Since 2018, Authentic has expanded its product range by opening a studio in Malta. From there, they stream content of studio live roulette products and Auto Roulette tables.
In addition, in 2021, they added their first non-roulette game, Multiplay Blackjack, further enhancing their product range.
Authentic Gaming has had investments over the years. It was purchased by Leo Vegas, which sold its interest to Genting in 2020.
This sale resulted in Authentic tables being installed in several Genting land-based casinos across the UK, replacing Evolution as the preferred roulette partner.
In November 2021, Scientific Games (now Light & Wonder) acquired Authentic and entered the live casino market for the first time.
Jonas Delin, CEO and founder of Authentic Gaming, said, “Our proven technology and live dealer platform are ready for scale. Now, as part of Scientific Games, we can fully pursue our studio expansion and game diversification strategy.”
Scientific Games, now named Light & Wonder, is primarily a lottery company from the US that has been around since the 1970s.
In early 2023, Authentic Gaming built its first US Studio in Michigan and began distributing its games in the US Market.

One reason for playing on roulette tables streamed from land-based casinos is their authenticity. You know you’re playing on a real table, betting alongside other real people, and you can see them placing their chips on the table. The only downside of these tables is generally the quality of the streaming and the time it takes to play a game round. Roulette is not a quick game in a casino!
From the start, Authentic, now Light & Wonder, has been on a journey to deliver roulette players, be they beginners or professionals, a playing interface that satisfies both. And I think they’ve achieved that.
The studio games have been a nice addition. They are no worse or better than most live game providers.
XL Roulette, with its many betting options, was a proper bit of innovation, which we haven’t seen more of in the later multiplier games. Light & Wonder is undoubtedly leveraging the brand awareness of games like Rainbow Riches and 88 Fortunes with games that I consider OK.
