Betgames has just released a new updated version of their Wheel of Fortune.
Gone is the original familiar-looking wheel of fortune and in comes a new wheel, studio and playing interface.
In fact, the only thing that hasn’t changed is the betting options.
The big news though is the Wheel of Fortune is no longer a live game.
The new wheel is computer-controlled, with an RNG (Random Number Generator) being used to pick the winning number, before the computer-controlled wheel is slowed, stopping on the number.
The wheel has been produced by SmartPlay International, a leading games machines producer for the industry. The wheel has been RNG certified by Gaming Labs.
Inside sources have told me that fully automating the wheel has improved the player experience, and also allows for remote operating, making it relatively “Pandemic” proof.
I think we’ll have to wait and see what players think about the play-ability of this new version. When Playtech tried this with the launch of Spin A Win as an RNG wheel, it failed miserably, players hated it and it was withdrawn in a matter of days.
The game has a published RTP of 95%, giving a rather hefty house edge of 5%.
Other wheels of fortune, like Dream Catcher and Spin A Win, have RTP’s of 96.58% and 97.22% respectively – although some are less depending on the bets being placed.
If you were to play the even money bets, like on Roulette, your return is 95% whereas Roulette returns 97.30% – the difference being caused by the number of segments on the wheel.
Other changes, see an increase in game rounds per hour. Originally a game occurred every few minutes. Now it’s a speedy 80 seconds.
Gameplay can be through the restricted playing interface, or full screen or on Mobile. Placing bets through the fullscreen playing interface is also now possible.
The studio has had a complete makeover.
The wheel sits in a specially created “wall”, very reminiscent of the way a dartboard is mounted.
Alongside the decorative moulding, there are a comprehensive set of lights that change colour through the different phases of the game. I particularly like the pulsating lights that shine as the wheel spins.
The whole effect is modern and in keeping with the new design features that Betgames is going for across their range of games.
If you fancy playing you can try one of these casinos.
