Celtic Casino – An Introduction

I’m pretty excited to add Celtic Casino to my Live Casino Reviews.

Live Blackjack

There are two great options for Blackjack.

• American Blackjack

  This is a standard 7 seat game that uses 6 decks in a manual dealing shoe. The dealer takes two cards as per American / Vegas Rules. Pairs, Rummy (21-3) & bet behind side bets can also be played. You can also double on anything and also double after a split!

  Recently introduced is Blackjack HD where you get to play against the dealer in full screen, rather than in the classic mixed mode of the dealer with computer generated interface.

• Blackjack with Early Payout

  This version uses a 6 card dealing shoe and you can play up to 3 community hands. The dealer only takes one card as per European rules. Blackjack side bets of Pairs, Rummy (21-3) and Bet Behind can be played. The best thing about this version of live blackjack is the Early Payout feature. You get to choose whether to cash out your hand before the dealer has completed theirs. A cash out value is displayed after each card is dealt to your hand. This is a great option for players as you’re able to reduce your losses on those marginal hands. My Blackjack strategy charts show what hands you should take the early payout on.

Live Roulette

There are two Live Roulette options.

• European Roulette

  This plays with a single Zero.

• American Roulette

  This plays with a single and double Zero.

Live Baccarat

There are two versions of Baccarat.

• Baccarat

  This is the normal live casino Baccarat with Baccarat side bets Dragon and Pairs.

• Baccarat Super 6

  This is the same game as normal Baccarat but with the addition of the Super 6 side bet where you bet on the banker getting a 6.

The only downside is that high rollers are not very well catered for. Maximum stakes for all the games is 500. However low rollers can play blackjack from as little as 0.50 a hand!

So whats it like at Celtic Casino

Celtic Casino runs on Visionary iGaming live casino software and the live casino games are streamed from studios in Costa Rica. The main table language is English but you’ll often hear the dealers speaking in Spanish as well. The chat is clear unlike some live casinos where you can hardly hear what is being said.

The dealing studio is relatively noisy, you’ll hear background chat from the other tables (it’s not too bad) and music playing in the background. I thought I wouldn’t like the noise level, but it actually grows on you and to be honest when I’m playing I didn’t really notice it.

Software

The software is provided by Visionary iGaming, who also supply Fairway Live Casino. The user interface is made up of a video streaming window, where you see the dealer and the cards being dealt.

Wrapped around this is a computer generated image of the table and this is where you place your bets and see in close up the cards that have been dealt. Dealer chat is enabled so you can chat with the dealer in real time and the casino volume can be adjusted using the slider in the video window.

Options for all the side bets are clearly marked. You can re-bet the last bet or set auto bet up to play the same bet automatically for each hand / spin. Sound volume can be controlled and the video stream can be paused if you don’t want to watch it.

Each game has its own set of bet limits & games rules. Baccarat has a full set of Roadmaps – Big Road, Big Eye Road, Cockroach Road & Small Road, whilst Roulette shows the history of the last spins, the area of the wheel the ball landed etc.
