The live casino Qormi studio in Malta has been shut down immediately and 100’s of staff have been put at risk of redundancy.
The swiftness of the closure and redundancies has taken many in the iGaming industry by surprise.
With the studio closed it would seem that NetEnt live games are no more.
Online casinos and players no longer have access to NetEnt Live Games, and you have to wonder whether they will ever reappear!
It’s a massive shame, as during the past 2 years NetEnt live has been transformed, with new playing interfaces, games, and the addition of a new physical studio.
What was meant to be a day of celebration for the launch of their latest game, Roulette Max, has now turned into a nightmare for the staff involved.
Not a lot more information has been forthcoming, with neither NetEnt nor Evolution issuing formal press releases.
With NetEnt Live Games now absent from the live casino lobbies, I just wonder how long it will be before they are replaced with another provider?
There are certainly opportunities for Pragmatic Play and Playtech to grab some more market share by filling the void left by NetEnt.
I truly hope so, as to keep the live casino vertical fresh and interesting for players we need healthy competition and choice.
