Playtech has made some significant changes to the way their popular gameshow, Jumanji The Bonus Level Live, plays. The changes have simplified gameplay, making it more inclusive and giving players more chances to get multipliers. This includes physical changes to the set, wheels and gaming furniture.

Jumanji The Bonus Level Live Reloaded is Launched

Initially released in August 2023, Jumanji The Bonus Level Live is a live dealer game show produced by Playtech Live.

Playtech used the theme of the popular children’s book and film to create a live game show that took players on an adventure by letting them assume the role of one of four characters: Ruby Roundhouse, Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar and Dr Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, which in turn could lead to increased payouts through the allocation of multipliers.

The characters played a central role in the game, appearing in several bonus rounds and on one of the two central wheels.

This would ultimately leave three-quarters of players dissatisfied during gameplay when their character wasn’t picked to double or increase payouts. If you played the game regularly, you knew that certain parts of the game seemed unfair if your character wasn’t chosen.

Well, I’m glad to say that someone at Playtech has had a rethink. Rather than persist with a game that doesn’t meet expectations, they have made some wholesale changes to deliver a more enjoyable game.

The Changes

Let’s take a look at the major changes.

Overall, the RTP has reduced slightly from 97.63% to 96.82%, but the RTP across all of the betting options has increased with a more even distribution of RTP, thanks mainly to the reduced RTP on Number Two position.

The Characters

The characters still form an essential part of the game, but their role has changed. You no longer assume a character’s role, removing the game’s unfairness. The characters are now used to activate Multipliers on the betting grid, which supports the first major change.

Random multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x are assigned to four of the betting positions, and each is assigned one of the characters.

The characters are still on the second wheel, and when the wheel stops on a character the corresponding multiplier on the bet position is activated. Then if the main wheel stops on that betting position, everyone benefits from the multiplier.

The Main Wheels

The configuration of the first main wheel has changed.  The layout of the Instant win prizes and Bonus rounds is different. The big block sections have been replaced with smaller section s in a different configuration. The number of sectors on the wheel remains unchanged.

The second wheels’ layout remains the same.

The Jungle Royal Bonus Round

The Jungle Royal Bonus Round remains unchanged.

The Monkey Valley Bonus Round

The Monkey Valley Bonus Round remains unchanged.

The Snake Bite Bonus Round

The bonus round has changed. Initially, you had to pick three cards from five to receive your multiplier payouts. Now, the dealer deals three cards and reveals the prizes beneath. The top payout has increased to 50:1.

Wild Spin Bonus Round

The Characters have been removed from the wheel, and a new set of animals has been added with a Respin +5 and Respin x2 section. The payouts remain the same, but everyone benefits from respins and increased multipliers when they occur.

Path Of Jumanji and Rhino Run Cash Collect

Both of these bonus rounds remain unchanged.

The Saving Jumanji Bonus Round

The main change to this bonus round is that everyone playing receives an 8x multiplier on their total bet.

The Next Level Bonus payouts remain the same.

LiveCasinoComparer Comment

Jumanji The Bonus Level isn’t a game I regularly play, and maybe it’s because I subconsciously didn’t like the game’s balance. It’s sometimes difficult to understand why you don’t like something until it changes, and that’s precisely what’s happened here.

I now understand why I didn’t like the game, which has helped me analyse the new game and realise that the changes are for the better.

It is now a more attractive alternative to other gameshows I play. However, the chance of getting the top 5000x payout hasn’t improved. The bonuses have been frequent in the sessions I’ve played so far, and I’ve had some nice wins.

Well done, Playtech, for this update.
