Five new seven-seat Blackjack tables are available across the Playtech Live Casino network. The tables are in Playtech’s new live casino studio in Romania.
Blackjack is offered in two formats, American and European.
The difference between the two rule types is in American Roulette, the dealer receives his first two cards with the rest of the players. The significance is he can offer insurance and perform a peek for Blackjack if his upcard shows an Ace.
If the dealer’s hand is Blackjack, the game ends before players have a chance to build their hands.
In European Rules, the dealer receives his second card after all players have played their hands. Players may have increased their bets by doubling or splitting their hands and therefore have more to lose if the dealer gets a blackjack from a hand where the upcard is an Ace. If the dealer has an Ace, players can take insurance before the dealer reveals his hand.
Blackjack is one of the few games that require lots of studio space. If you have seven-seat Blackjack tables, you’ll always struggle if the seat demand exceeds what you have available.
There are two ways to solve this problem. The first is to offer Blackjack games like Unlimited Blackjack or Quantum Blackjack, where an unlimited number of players can play the same hand. You only need one or two tables to support this.
The second option is adding more tables, a slow and costly exercise that Playtech has chosen.
Romania is a favoured location for opening studios. Both Pragmatic Play and Evolution already have studios, which is good news for the dealers as it gives them more options for where to work.
I like the Yellow tables – they remind me of the ones Betfair used in their dedicated studios some years ago.
