Games Global has acquired a majority stake in Wishbone Games, the Cardiff-based slots studio that has worked exclusively with the B2B gaming supplier. Although the transaction was completed in 2025, details emerged publicly earlier in October 2026. The acquisition continues Games Global’s strategy of bringing third-party game development studios into its wider business network.
Information filed with Companies House identifies Games Global UK Limited as a person with significant control over Wishbone Games from 1 October 2025. The filing indicates that Games Global controls between 50% and 75% of the studio’s share capital.
The change replaces Wishbone’s co-founders, Olaf Miska and Vlad Matei, who no longer hold significant stakes in the company.
The deal represents another step in Games Global’s acquisition-led expansion. The company has acquired at least 10 game development studios over the past five years, in addition to securing B2B assets from Super Group and Microgaming during the same period.
An Established Partnership Becomes Majority Ownership
Games Global’s relationship with Wishbone Games began in June 2022, when the studio received investment from venture capital fund Velo Partners through its RNG Foundry programme.
RNG Foundry operates as a start-up accelerator for smaller game development studios. Its model combines investment with access to Games Global’s distribution network through exclusive partnership agreements. This arrangement allows studios to develop games while gaining access to a broad network of casino operators.
When Wishbone entered the programme, co-founder Olaf Miska outlined the studio’s ambition to combine mathematical design with storytelling and strong visual presentation. Exclusive distribution through Games Global was intended to help the studio expand and make its titles available to more operators and players.
The acquisition builds on that existing relationship by giving Games Global majority ownership rather than relying solely on an exclusive distribution agreement.
Acquisition Strategy Supports Studio Network Growth
Games Global has previously presented acquisitions as a central element of its growth model. Its 2024 IPO prospectus, although the planned public offering did not proceed, described the company’s intention to use its platform, scale and cash generation to pursue acquisitions that could strengthen its studio network and generate returns.
The company also indicated that it had acquired several studios between April 2022 and December 2023 and intended to continue identifying suitable opportunities.
Bringing development studios into its network gives Games Global a broader base of content and closer relationships with the teams creating its games. For Wishbone, the existing distribution partnership already provided access to Games Global’s operator network.
NEXT.io reported that it had contacted Games Global for comment on the acquisition. No additional response was included in the report.
The Wishbone deal highlights Games Global’s continuing focus on studio ownership as a way to expand its portfolio and reinforce its position in the competitive B2B casino content market.
