Gentingbet Closes Online Casino

Gentingbet has announced that it will be closing its online sportsbook on the 16th August 2021 and then the online casino on the 23rd August 2021.

No reasons have been given for this decision.

gentingbet closed

Gentingbet announced on the 9th July 2021 that it will be closing its online Sports Book and Casino.

It’s a rather puzzling move, given they operate one of the worlds largest networks of land-based casinos and have invested heavily in their online Live Casino solutions.

To be left without an online presence and no word of whether it will be replaced seems a rather strange move. Especially at a time when there has been an upsurge in new customers to online casinos during these rather difficult times and land-based casinos are struggling for footfall.

Gentingbet has invested heavily in its online live casino presence, with two dedicated studio areas at Evolution, for both their GettingBet and Crockford’s casino brands. They also stream live tables from several of their well known land-based casinos. To pull the plug on all this is a big decision and not one made easily.

In addition, the punters who visit the new Resorts World Casino on the Las Vegas Strip will now have nowhere to continue their relationship with Genting online, once they have returned home.

All in all a strange decision, unless of course there is a replacement being developed in the background.

Of course, if this happens it’s likely to alienate online marketing partners, who will have lost income revenue from the closure and won’t see it return if a new brand opens.

The cynical will see this as a calculated move to reduce costs in one quick sweep, while preparing the ground for a new brand to rise again like a phoenix from the ashes.

Of course, GentaingBet are entitled to do this, but it won’t win them many friends along the way.

I for one am sorry to see their demise, but quite honestly I don’t think they were making the most of their USP online, and certainly were not focused on driving numbers through their online live casino solution, which quite frankly should have been the market leader.

If you’re a current player at GentingBet, I’d advise you to withdraw your funds and signup somewhere else.

My recommendation is Leo Vegas, who have a fantastic online live casino solution.

Playability – What is the overall impression of the casino? Did I have a good time? are the dealers nice and chatty and is everything easy to understand? Does it have a good set of games and is there a comprehensive set of betting options? Are high stakes players taken care of?

Software – What is the software like to use and does it integrate well with the rest of the casino?. Are the images clear and is the video streaming fast? Have they taken more than the default shared tables? Is it available on mobile?

Payment Options – Does the casino have a good variety of payment options? Do they payout quickly and on time?

Security – How good is the reputation of the casino amongst other players? Do they hold a valid gaming license? Are they transparent about the security measures they have in place? Are they regularly audited? Do they publish this information?

Support – Do they have multiple methods for communication with me? Is support available 24×7? Do they have instant chat and are they quick to respond? Are they able to help me immediately? Do they have an online FAQ and self-help library? Are the support people knowledgeable about the product I’m playing?

Bonuses – Do they have bonuses?. How strict are the wagering requirements? Do they offer repeat bonuses?. Do they offer loyalty points and can they be redeemed for cash or playing credits?

After all that, would I play there regularly?
