Half Russian, half Latvian.

I have a Masters Degree in Ecology.

Assistant at the Department of Applied Ecology, a courier & a seller.

Had you had any previous experience of either presenting or dealing live table games?

No, never.

What skills do you need for the role of a live dealer?

English skills, a positive attitude, concentration, a lot of coffee and nice colleagues.

How long have you been a live dealer?

For 10 months now.

What sort of career progression is available to you?

Any, it just depends on motivation and what you want to do.

What other jobs need doing when you’re not dealing at the tables?

Nothing.

How long is a typical shift?

8 hours.

How long do you deal at the same table?

30 minutes.

Do you only deal on the Genting tables?

Yes.

Training

What training are you given?

Workshops to learn all the necessary games and we can also do performance workshops.

Who provides the training?

Evolution Academy.

How long does the training take and do you have to pass tests before you are allowed to deal.

It varies depending on the kind of training that it is and then we need to pass an exam.

What does the training involve?

Usually it’s theory and practice.

Do you have to be trained in all the games before you are allowed to deal for real?

At first it’s enough to know only Blackjack, after that if you show you’re willing to grow up you can learn other games as well.

Did you need any special training for the Genting tables? 

Yep, Baccarat Squeeze (although I don’t sit there).

Dealing

How do you know when you’re doing a good job?

I’m looking at my evaluations.

How important is the chat facility?

Extremely important, it’s the only way to communicate with customers.

Do you have prepared questions to get players talking?

Only basic ones, the rest is improvisation.

What subjects are you not allowed to talk about?

Politics, religion, sex.

Was there anything that surprised you about being a live dealer?

The spotlights are really bright.

What info do you have about the player?

Nickname.

Do you know how much people are betting?

Yes.

Personal

Do you play casino games yourself?

What is your favourite game? and why?

For now it is Three Card Poker. Time passes so fast when dealing this game.

What is the best part about your job?

To be in the center of attention.

My lovely team.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you at work?

I was named “the ghost rider” just because some people think that I look like a Nicolas Cage.

What is your favourite holiday destination and why?

Grandma’s place, her buns are very tasty.

Do you have any pets, if so what are they and what are their names?

Right now I haven’t. I had a cat called Alf before.

What sorts of music do you like and why?

Almost any except rap and chanson (but not the French one, the Russian one, it’s awful believe me).

Have you been to any concerts recently? If so what and how was it?

Muse concert in Riga. It was amazeballs.

If you could have a super power for a day what would it be and what would you do?

If I had any kind of superpower I’d become a time traveler.

Do you play or watch sport?

Not really.

What is your favourite food?

Chicken and vegetables.
